I was eating scrambled egg recently and thought deeply about what it actually was and had an existential crisis. True story. I have had this same moment with an egg myself. I know exactly what you are talking bout.

So one of my customers is English. I was telling him about all the convos and slang things we talked about on here. I asked him how he ate his chocolate. I said "don't you dare say cold" he replied "yep! Rock hard from the fridge!" Blasphemy! Then he told me how he makes a cup of tea. Says he has been married for 25 years and his wife still makes him piss water when she makes a cup. Haha

I just asked what was so different. Apparently he uses bags but says he pours hot water in and then lets it sit a few min and then stirs it and then lets sit again and then adds milk " ( apparently unless lemon tea as it will curdle.) i asked if he used reg sugar or " lumps." He laughed and said lumps are for pinkie out rich people.
Apparently his wife pours hot water and just lets the tea bags sit and by his account taste like piss water because it doesn't actually get the tea flavor out.
I asked him if everyone actually drank tea and if he could think of anything American that a majority do like the masses drinking tea there. He compared it to coffee drinking. ( i don't drink coffee but a lot of ppl do first thing every morning.) He mentioned a difference was that a lot of ppl have fresh brewed coffee here but over there it is all instant. He said UK is the largest consumer of instant coffee. ( i did not fact check this.)
I had asked if a lot of ppl used tea bags over there. As i assumed loose tea was used and maybe that was part of the trouble making a good cup. Hr said that is kind of an old school way of doing it. Said you use to put a spoon full in for each person and " one for the pot."

Here's how I make a cuppa.
Water in first.... poured onto to teabag to inflate it. Add the milk. Stir and then press the teabag against the side of the cup (you can actually buy special strainers to do that).
I always make it in the cup, I don't bother with the teapot.
Also, when we had a DT meet at my house, the American (Christa) had no idea what could possibly be under a thingy in my kitchen that happened to be a tea cosy. It's like a little hat you put over a teapot to trap the heat and keep the tea inside hot.

Can't be bothered with a teapot Paul!!? What kind of Brit are you??
Put the kettle on to boil
Warm the teapot
Put the kettle on to boil again
Add 2 bags Yorkshire to the teapot
Pour boiling water
Let sit
Stir with tea tongs
Let sit warm and cozy in its tea cozy
Drink with a bit of milk.
And that's how it's done

Haha. To be honest my wife uses them from time to time. When on th occasions I have drank hot tea.i just got hot water to put tea bags in. -* sit down before reading this next statement* usually by microwaving a mug of water. Haha
I just didnt realize you had to heat it twice. I assumed to a boil was sufficient.

Soooooo it's Easter weekend and, you know, I need to buy a chocolate Easter Egg for my folks.... so I go into Sainsbury's and spend like an hour walking up and down the refrigerated aisles looking for them since I keep hearing that chocolate should be stored there but there didn't seem to be any!!!
So now my family won't get any easter eggs this weekend and it's all your fault.
