My dreads air dry in about 2 hours in this slightly warmer weather. Do other folks dreads dry from washing pretty fast? My hairdryer rarely comes out it's box.

Really?! I blow dry mine for 30 minutes and they're still a little damp hours later lol. I'd get one of those bag attachment things everyone loves but Charlie likes to sit on my shoulder whilst I blow dry and that'd scare him, I'm sure.

I must have a boiling hot head that instantly dries them. Even in winter I only use the hair dryer for 5 minutes.

That is ludicrous lol. You should plug the end of one of ya locks into your phone, see if it charges it ;p

I think the worst dread accident I've had was with my first set, when I moved a pair of glasses onto my head. They were the type with bridge supports that are not a built-in part of the frame, but made up of separate bits and so the hair in my roots that I moved the glasses up to got completely tangled in. I had to cut them loose in the end.

Doing my first deep clean in about 3-4 years today. I think my scalp/roots could use it. Not too dirty, the water, but looks like a bit of shampoo residue coming out.

I keep getting old ladies coming up and complementing my dreads. A few years back a woman who must have been in her 70s came up talking to me about them and left me with three pieces of advice: Never get married, never have children and "be careful.... if you know what I mean *wink*". I think she assumed I smoke da reefa.
Today a woman who has a 50 year old son came up and said he has dreads, too, but he's going grey. Then she complemented me on my tips.
It is true that I like an older woman but I'm starting to think my demographic of appeal is slightly beyond my personal preferences.

I like younger men (everyone I've ever been involved with - not that it's a long list - was much younger than me, apart from my very first boyfriend), but the few times someone 20 years younger than me made a pass, I was both flattered and slightly creeped out....
(Although I did spend a few days recently lusting after a musician who was 24 years younger than me.... But it was lusting in a very distant, abstract way. Besides, he looked like a cross between River Phoenix and a young Jack White and he was a hell of a musician; I doubt I was the only one slightly overcome....)
(Isn't it sad that we'll never have to specify a 'young River Phoenix'?)
