Nizoral is now my shampoo recommendation of choice for people with scalp issues. I actually forgot to wash my hair last week because it didn't feel like it needed it and then I was able to wait until the next wash day without getting any itchies whatsoever... can't remember the last time I went two weeks without needing to wash my locks. I'm wondering if I can cut it down to twice a month, now.
(I know I have less locked-up hair, now, but the areas that are loose aren't where I used to get the itchies so I don't think it makes much difference in that regard)

My random dreadlocks thought is that I have to remember not to move my sunglass up atop my forehead now that I have dreadlocks.... ouch!!

Funny but I was kinda worried about being around the con crowd at the weekend, since the people there are from all walks of life. I wasn't sure how they'd accept a dreadhead. I didn't get any comments, luckily (though I've seen some of them talk about how white people shouldn't have dreads in the past, so I wasn't sure how widespread that thought was), so I feel a bit more comfortable now. But it's odd.... it's the first time in a while that I've gone into a situation feeling acutely aware of how "weird" I look!
Then again I've been told before "oh, you LOOK like an artist" when I tell people what I do so maybe that helps us get away with it.

I had another person trying to sell the big Issue to me yell “hey Rasta man... blaa blaa. “ argh it make me so angry, I’m not a Rasta you idiot, I don’t look like a Rastafarian. I’m not religious that way, do you know what you are saying. It’s gibberish. I know it’s intended as friendly but I find it offensive. I’m not trying to be a Rasta I’m me. It’s so close minded. It gets a bee in my bonnet. 🐝

I took another lock out yesterday. Up on the right side of my head. I took the opposite number out a while back so it felt more like balancing things out than anything. I'm still contemplating taking the next top row out round the back so it's all in line with the tips of my ears, just so there's a bit more volume with the loose hair on top. The roots are so much narrower these days as it is that when I braid it, the plait is fatter at the bottom than near my scalp.

Makes sense Sarah. You should do whatever makes you feel the most comfortable. Please post pictures if you do!

Know what's weird? I've started looking back at old pictures from when I had a full head of dreads and feeling mildly embarrassed, in the way you do when you look back at old hairstyles and cringe. Not that I regret having them for so long or anything but I'm just seeing them with different eyes, for sure.
This kind of feeling worries me a little (and I get it with looking back at old art, too) because it makes you question your critical faculties!
