Ok, so for those who missed it...is Dollylocks dry shampoo...or I should say, well...it didn't pass the "smell test"! Like I wonder, did I use enough? Or is myhair still supposed to smell like "dirty hair"? I mean, ugh a little frustrated if paying thatmuch and it won't do the job! I mean, just cuz it "smells" does itmean it is dirty?? Ha I mean that sounds weird, but I think if anyone gets this, it would be you guys!
Help!

My opinion is that all it does is soak up the oils and make it appear less dirty? I wouldn't want to put dry shampoo in my dreads I feel like it is like powdered chalk

I might get some dry shampoo for when my band goes on tour in a few weeks. But I'm also not really sure I actually care. I don't think I'd want to use dry shampoo in my dreads ... It's more for my loose fringe.

ahhhhh (sighs) Well, I thought it was a little better after I water sprayed and spread it around. Seriously what a bummer tho if it doesn't clean! I mean, not that my hair is particularly dirty if it is just oils right?...but ...i mean...I feel less greasy, so I FEEL less dirty...but if I'm gonna be stinky...Idk. I don't think it's so bad but...I can't exactly get up in my head either hahaha

Carrie have you considered giving vital goods a go? I am obsessed with their liquid shampoo. Remembering to tag! @vacantalleyways

Nah you don't have to though if you need to get my attention I would!
Yeah I understand that. I went through a period of spending a ton of money on different shampoos to use them once to never use them again... It's a nuisance.

I only use dry shampoo in my fringe and bangs, not in my dreads at all

alethionaut, no not in the dreads either, the scalp and well, can I put it through all the straight hair? (Partial dreads) it will finish quicker, but still to be clean!

I just follow the instructions. Mine is a spray, leave for a min then brush out.
It doesn't clean the hair. It just masks the oil and grease so it looks washed. The only way to clean is to actually wash your hair.

Hmm but you don't NEED to wash hair every day or every other or...well, like what would you, what would anyone do with partials? Ahh I am so alone!

I wash my hair every two or three days, and use the dry shampoo in between. Not everyone's hair is like that. Some people can go five or six days without washing.

I skimmed through a lot of the comments. So i dont know all that was said..And i'm still experimenting with shampoos but i'm currently using Alaffia African Black soap. (Peppermint) i got it for under $10 at a natural foods/products store called Chamberlains locally. So far I am in love with it. I always struggled with oily hair and i now go 3 days without a wash and my fringe (which is actually a large portion of the front of my hair, not just bangs) stays pretty decent without any dry shampoos or anything. I am also really frugal when it comes to spending money on shampoos. Its a good product as far as my standards go.

Im thinking of buying a liquid shampoo, I Love Juicy, from LUSH to rotate/mix with the BIG just to get a new smell into the mix...
If we're going to be honest I dont shower very often at aaallll. Im not very active right now so I dont get very gross, and I tend to not smell very bad, so I shower like once every week to week and a half with no ill effects/smells. My hair has stopped getting really greasy too. Sometimes the scalp does get itchy and that's when I'll usually shower.
I have never used dry shampoos because the instructions almost always say to brush out and i obviously cant brush my hair so...
