acidburn , right right well that doesnt sound very different then. Idk man, I really dont know. Sorry! eh maybe good things come to those who wait!?! @vacantalleyways that's my exact thoughts also I feel like if I was to backcomb or twist and pull some I would have wasted 7 months of waiting for neglect knots. It will be 10* more rewarding also.

Because right now I have an afro!!! Hehe ah man! The knots! Beautiful knots! Dont want to comb them out....but I gotta jeez hand those knots over 7 months w.o combing and I barely have any. I am so envious of anyone that can do the neglect method, my hair is poker straight and naturally silky to boot. Before I started my dreads I very rarely combed or brushed it and the only part that would start to dread was near my hair line at my neck. Now that they are on their way, however, I just let them do their thing, there is no more uniform grid pattern and lots of loose ends that eventually get sucked up into other dreads or become their own.

Glad I spotted this chat I've been using dollylocks for a year now and my scalp is starting to get very itchy and I'm not convinced it actually cleans my scalp or locs, going to try the suggested faith in nature tea tree shampoo to see if it makes a difference. Fingers crossed!

I have to switch shampoos often. I cycle between lush shampoo bars, their happy hippy shower and hair gel and T-gel shampoo.

I've also never had to "rip" hairs apart like my wife whoes sections get massively tangled. I just have to have her pull away stray hairs that fly into wrong sections lol.

acidburn Just curious, I don't think he's moved it here yet but have you ever seen James' timeline? He has one of the most epic sets on the this site and he saw almost no progress for the first two years, via neglect. Just saying.... it takes a lot of time!!

hi jefner, hope You'll find solution to get rid of such an issue about washing: some people in Poland suggest using GREY SOAP! don't know if it's good to do it, especially because it may bring dandruff to scalp and dries it...

I use LUSH's BIG shampoo, only I mix in a loooooot more salt. It makes my dreads velcro like they did when they were 6 months old, but DANG does it help with the loose hairs! I also use LUSH's Soak and Float when my head gets itchy. Makes my hair smell like campfire :3 Ive been planning on buying some Vital Goods or Dollylocks but thosr can be pretty conditioning, and I still have a lot of loose hairs on the side of my head to clean up.. Ill probably stick with BIG for another tub or two and then switch over. The BIG shampoo does strip color super fast (except red, ive found) so that's kinda a hassle.

kells I used BIG when my dreads were younger and it really helped I also used dolly locks and didn't really like it, my hair got extremely fluffy and loose feeling after I used it so I just stick to BIG and Seanick from Lush

I used Seanik for a while, but I like Big better. I also love their shampoo Montalbano, but it melts faster than their other solid shampoos, so I dont know if Ill buy it again. I kinda just have a shampoo hoarde and kinda rotate out with whatever I'm feeling at the moment. I also have their Jason and the Argan Oil shampoo when the BIG leaves my hair too squeaky clean.
