I get my oils at whole foods or Amazon. I water down my vital goods shampoo. Sorry for the confusion! got it now! sorry, i forgot Vital Goods was the brand of shampoo. Ohh so it will last longer this way. Is it that harsh on your head??? (no rush on an answer here. I am still using J&J) wait, Johnson and Johnson's baby shampoo is still good right? (no conditioner so it's fine?) I'm pretty sure I read this somewhere, that's why I've been using it, but ugh! I'm having doubts...slightest doubts. Just been thinking about this stuff too much recently. I think I'm getting it though. I've got a few options bookmarked for when I need to restock. I'm just anxious for this deep clean right now. Is it bad if you get dirty water??? ...eh, maybe I should just do it and then ask.. Johnson and Johnson contains quarternium-15 a chemical that releases formaldehyde witch causes skin, eye and respiratory irritation also tied to leukemia. Also has 1,4 dioxane witch has carcinogenic properties. It's a toxin that causes damage to central nervous system, liver and kidneys.

wow, so many products contain harmful chemicals... recently I've found some article about it on Polish media, I know they mentioned some h&s products...

Vacant - it's not harsh. I just have an overly sensitive scalp that dries out super quickly and I end up with dandruff. So the owner of vital goods suggested I dilute it... And that's been successfully controlling my itching. I've tried literally everything else and this is the only shampoo that doesn't irritate my scalp.

Every 5-8 days depending on how my scalp is feeling. It's usually once a week. If I get really sweaty I may just rinse with water or wipe my scalp with witch hazel and lavender.
But I seriously love vital goods liquid rosemary lavender shampoo.

Hmm, acidburn, I don't remember seeing those ingredients, but I'm gonna look in one second and edit this. Edit: nope! Nothing with 15 or diox anything! Not saying what IS there is great, but not those things. question, I'm going to the store very soon here, any basic shampoos you can recommend until I can look more into dread shsmpoos and ship some here...better or on par with J&J?

For example my shampoo has laurylglucoside but it tells me that it's coconut oil and plant sugar.

If u live in America you can order lots of good shampoos.

acidburn,, alright, I see this and will keep it in mind, but for now I just gotta do what I do. Hehe I want that dry shampoo, so that's my first priority, then I'll start experimenting with others...gradually adding things is important too! Oh, and from Canada....eh? (Haha my attempt to be funny. And it probably wasn't. Tbh, I have always said "eh"? So when I heard it was a "canadian" thing, well, I couldn't forget it.)

Oh but I saw the other post and why you dilute.

I really didn't mean to discourage you, but rather encourage you (and everyone) to look at the ingredients. There are so many shampoos out there that promote so many different things like great for dreads, itchies be gone, silky hair etc but they are all just great marketing for chemicals that can screw up your hormones, leave you barren, give you cancer do I need to go on? Funny enough the one shampoo I keep coming back to is Spa by Tropiclean, it can be found in pet stores and here's what is in it... (This is 'Lavish' the one I share with my dog ) Water (Aqua), Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber), Vanilla Planifolia (Vanilla), Vitamin E, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Mild Coconut Cleanser, Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5), Avena Sativa (Oatmeal), Actinidia Chinesis (Kiwi), Camellia Sinensis (White Tea), Zingiber Officinale (Ginger). I don't use this all that often since I find all shampoos and soaps mess up the delicate balance of natural oils on my scalp. Here's what I suggest next time you are going to buy a shampoo, take your phone or pen and paper and look at every single ingredient on every bottle, if the store has a natural section start there. But remember natural is just a buzz word and can be applied to virtually anything. I'm not sure if you want me to go on about the other shampoo you were looking at, if you do I will, but I don't want to be a downer. I hope this helps and sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you things here are quite hectic.
