Hello! It's about time I start my timeline, as I've been meaning to since day one. My dreads were created using tnr method. My husband and sister created the sections and I did the twisting. Please feel free to give me any tips! Day 1 I was a little nervous it wouldn't hold up, because my hair is so fine and it looked like it was just twisted together, like there were no knots at all! 1 month Loops are everywhere! I work in food and usually wear it up. So I'm still a little self conscious about it when it's down, but I'm slowly not caring as much! July 18th made 2 months of baby dreads! Crazy things are happening. The length difference THIS thing I have to separate it all a couple times a day now. The shrinkage has begun! As always, I appreciate any tips you guys have! Sorry for neglecting the board for a few weeks! 3rd month Shriiiink! This picture makes me think maybe I need to scrub a little better when I wash it. Just look at that madness! Four months deep, guys! So my only question right now is about my balled up, clumpy ends. Do those sort themselves out, or do I need to comb/cut them out? I keep redoing the front and it keeps coming out but what can ya do 🙉 5 month update 😄 A couple days early. Daniel and I went to see The Kentucky Headhunters this weekend and after the concert we met the band mates and Richard Young complimented my hair 🙈 Leaving the show 2 months vs 5! Officially half a year old! Day One and Six Months.. Ummm, shrink..? Honestly, they are so clumpy on the ends that I really just hate them right now. Would it be a bad idea to comb the ends out yet to get them whispy? Do I need to wait until they're mature?

I always get mega jealous of the loopy stage (my hair was so short that I bypassed it), but it's a sure sign that good things are happening. Can't wait to see how your locks turn out and welcome to the community, glad to have ya! Where are you in the world?

It's funny, because before I started my dreads and I saw other people going through the loopy stage, I thought "that looks awful, why are they proud of it looking that way?" but now, of course, I am wicked proud of my loops! haha. I'm from the US, tiny state of West Virginia! Thankfully didn't get washed away during our horrible flooding all last week. Where are you from? =)

We have a few fellow West Virginian's around here, I believe, though not sure how many are currently active. I'm one of the fairly large English contingent here so I can very much relate to getting a bit soggy due to the weather.

I've noticed so many mountain people with dreads since I started mine. You keep safe in all that sogginess! haha. It's nice to meet you!

Where are you in the world? and I'm not jealous because of it if I got them by backcombing or TnR, I would probably do it on short her as You did to avoid such stories

sweet loopy goodness. I have a few forming in mine and love them too. I imagine you will see a fair amount of shrinkage but your locks will have a tone of awesome character that I think is what makes them so beautiful.
