Looks like I'm going to have to find a nice European girl to marry xD unless Scotland can push for independence (as they are likely to want to remain in the EU alone) and I can claim Scottish citizenship..

I think the general feeling is that Scotland will have another referendum and the answer will be yes this time.
I still can't believe you weren't allowed to vote, Dave, considering the effect it has on your career choices lol.

My Britain First supporting Scottish cousin, who was voting for Scottish independence and to leave the EU, even though Scotland wanted to remain, must have mixed politics now. The only joy is to watch the privileged rich Conservatives continue infighting whilst the economic effects make the general public poorer.

I think quite a few Scots votes leave purely because they knew it would mean they would have better arguments to leave Britain?

Nigel Farage has come out with some absolute clangers on the UKIP front overnight. First of all complaining that more young people were allowed to vote because of the extended deadline, then literally stating that they won it "without a single bullet being fired". Like wtf.

It a bit worrying that a vote so close to 50/50 can make such a huge difference for everybody. Especially as there has been so much misinformation spread. Still, I like a bit of Anarchy, it's just I like Anarchists to all get along and live peacefully. :/

If I can be brutally honest, there is a side of me that has wondered if being so involved and invested in the outcome is the right way to go. I remember George Carlin always used to talk about having no stake in the outcome of human politics and being able to sit back and observe it.... It's difficult to do so when you have empathy and compassion for those affected by an outcome (which of course can apply to both sides of the debate), but then there's the other element of "this is all completely irrelevant in the grand scheme".

So what happens now The public have voted for Britain not be allowed free roaming in the EU? It's a bit odd giving up your freedom amongst your allies. So how's this going to effect students like Dave?

Well I know our place in the union protected things like tuition fees so studying overseas will probably become a lot more expensive. And I think Dave mentioned something about needing Visas etc for every European country he'd go to teach in rather than being able to move freely.

Cameron is resigning, so the new potential nightmare is Boris.
Fingers crossed for you, Dave!
