I'm a low weight, high reps, isometric type of lifter if that counts.

Go heavy or go home here. Jk. I do a mixture of higher rep lower weight and high weight low reps. Lift 5 days a week typically.

Ive been lifting about 4 days a week. Thats about as much as I can get in having the two kiddos to look after, and its an extra 20 bucks to get them in the childcare at the gym. Its go big or go home for me too, but Im trying to gain muscle right now, in a couple months I plan to cut and add some more HIIT to my workouts.

Certainly any amount is great. I use lifting as therapy a bit. I have one little one and it can be a challenge, irie. I can only imagine logistics of getting gym time with two. I am lucky my wife works weekends and i work weekdays. So i started going early early am or if i get up to late during my lunch at work since the gym is a block away. I used to go after work but kids take priority one so i had to change some things. Keep plugging away at it. 4 days is just fine;Hell even three. Your workout plan sounds great.

I definitely feel like lifting is therapy too. I absolutely love it. I am usually in the gym by 7:30 in the morning on Monday Wed and Fri. I drop the kids at daycare and the gym is only about 10 min from there and 5 min from my office. Then I work another workout in on either Sat or Sun and my mom watches them for a bit. It is tough. I have to be up by 5:15 in the morning to get the girls up, eat breakfast, and get out the door. Since I live with my mom right now, she helps me out a lot. I am thankful for that.
But to be honest, I want to go, so waking up isnt that awful anymore. Im actually disappointed if something happens and I cant go. lol

Sounds like a solid and locked in routine!!
When my kids were younger, I had one of those running strollers and I'd bundle one of them up and take her/him running with me. I really miss those runs, they're priceless now.
Hehe...I get all salty if I don't workout. It's both meditative and stress relief for me.

I've been on injured reserve list for the last two weeks.
I pulled a muscle in my hip and lower abdominals. Pain radiated through my right hip (front and back) and up to my lower abdominal muscles. I think it started with a new squat/twist routine. I exacerbated it by running a fast 5k without adequate stretching and then I really f'd it up snowboarding and slamming on the same hip...hehe... It really never ends.
It's getting better 'cause I can cough and get out of bed without pain. I'm getting back to the gym next Monday and going with stretching and mostly upper body workouts. I will have to work back into running slooooooowly so I'll probably start with the bike. Core workouts will be touch and go, I think.
I've been at it long enough to know that injuries are part of the game, I just lament at the fact that they take a whole lot longer to heal nowadays...hehe.

I hit the gym Monday after taking three weeks off. I stretched, ran 2 miles, did upper body weights, and went low with no weight/low reps inclined sit ups. I gotta work the core stuff in sloooooooooowwww.
I feel good, a little sore, but I'll be at it today!!! I'm glad to be back at it!!!!

I don't really have anything in a set schedule that I do, other than roller derby 2x a week. I have a weight bench downstairs that I used to use a lot, but life has gotten crazy, by the time I'm "free" to use it, I'm dead, and go attempt to sleep. I do, however, have 4 sets of wiggly weights in varying sizes that I use throughout the day (ages 2-11, haha), so, they get to play, and I still get to work out. I ended up gaining 8 lbs of muscle in my first few months of derby last year, so I was pretty stoked about that. I definitely need to gain more to stand a chance against my opponents though, as most of them have 100+lbs on me.

A friend of mine has recently started roller derby and she loves it. Looks like fun too if a bit rough.

It's a blast (and an intense workout)!! I didn't find out until last year that we even had it here, which is insane, because we have about 10 teams within a couple hours radius. It's just not well publicized here I will say, I was disappointed when I found out it's not nearly as violent as shown in old movies, since the rules and game play have evolved over the years, haha!
