Alright, no one else did it yet. Here's the workout thread! Oh I feel great right now!!! On week 2 (skipping every other day, sometimes 2 days, but)... of Jillian Michaels 30day shred
k...so, well, not sure how detailed I'm going to get here. Let's just say the first week (3 workouts) were hell, but now I'm like in the groove...so probably just updates from here on out. (unless I get bored or something) Alright! What have you been doing workout wise? Or would you like to join me???

I'm too lazy to do it I need someone who can train with me and motivate me my mate is trying, but he also likes eating like me so doesn't work out at all, I only go for regular walks and that's it xD

Past two weeks I haven't done anything as I've been off work, but generally I like to run 3k three times a week, and do light weights. I'm just working on getting fit rather than losing weight although the ultimate goal is to lose weight.
I'd lose motivation if I didn't see the scale change though which is why I set myself a fitness goal first.

On my way to the gym now before work. I typically weight train 4-5 days a week before work.

But we eat so different things, including some junk food and that's main issue!

I run almost every day to keep my head from exploding and stay fit at the same time. I tend to either binge eat or not eat at all when I feel bad but now I use running to clear my head. I've recently added some muscle workout to my running routine because I really want to be more fit. Still need to get some weights. I have quite fast mestabolism so I've never had problems with my weight (apart from being too skinny) even though I've eaten alot of crap but I really want to be stronger and not so wobbly. I also have a really bad back and I've now noticed that I really really need to get some back muscles if I want to not suffer from chronic back pains when I'm 30. I used to spend all my days at the stables which kept me in good shape and helped my back but now that I've stopped, I needed to find substitute for that. edit// I also do yoga to be stretchy

kondzio , as acidburn , said, you need to fuel your workouts. You'll start to feel your body really need those good foods when you work hard. Id say cut junk clean and clear (sugars especially, are literally addictive and just downright counterproductive to anything) if you are serious pete, I would spend hours helping you with what I know but...yes, you can eat, and maybe just start by changing the ratio. Treat yourself to "junk" but eat more of the good stuff...especially, veggies. In yours and my cultures diets, this is not very um popular? (Hearty rich foods. No, im not polish, nor do I mean all Americans...maybe just my family, but even my inlaws, while its not particjlarly bad food, sometimes theres more meat centered dishes and cream based thinfs or deepfrying) Oh man! But now im actually craving a plate of kale! You can change your peeferences for these healthy food. Sorry for the typos. tangerina , fast metabolism? Lucky! Hehe no, im sure it comes with its issues. In fact, ive seen it in friends...still jealous but no, not really.oh yes! Why is it so strange for people to realize that you can get much more success with weight training than just cardio alone? A proper balance, and it might be different for everyone. But gingerdreadman , could probably attest to the benefits of such a workout. We have a joke in our home like, ok, you go to the gym (and now that I think of it, this is not entirely true and also I hope no one is offended. Its a joke!) But, go to a gym and who do you see lifting or weight training? The buff, fit folks right? Lean and all that. And most of them never touch, say an elliptixal. Then who do you have on the cardio machines? And again, no offense, butthe fatties! Ha! Its basixally just motivation for me to keep remembering that importance of weight training. Remember muscle burns more calories that fat and or nothing. So, you get twice the benefits of weight training. However, and in my case especialy, I need cardio for my heart. That's why this new workout is a godsend! It balances both and for stronger people, just increase the weights, or even lift on alternate days. You can really mix it up with this program. ahh good, im pumped again! Ha! Doesnt hurt to have a Swarzzenegar (sp. Oh I so botched that lol) fan in the house. There's an incredible book by him...even a womens section! Don't get focused on the photos. Most of us dont aspire to be bodybuilders. But the principles are for all of us! oh, ihope this incredibly heartfelt and long post actually posts. Tablet work with me here! ok, just very glad to see so much enthusiasm here. Love you guys! (Ah, so I guess I have been throwing that term out there a lot lately. It's just all the type of sites I've been on in the last year. You kindof get to read people...but even if I didn't like somebody, I still love em. Guys, just bare with me. I'm having a moment. I'll try not to throw it around like I do on my girlie forums, but if I do, this is what I mean. So...love! And peace! )

My workout routines change every now and then, but this is what I generally stick to: M/W/F - 5k-10k runs, weight training (body and free weights, some machines) T/TH - "super secret" kung fu training Sat and/or Sun - This varies but I try to reserve the weekend for long runs (>10k if I'm training for a race), more kung fu, bouldering, biking, skateboarding, yard work, anything that will keep me moving really. tangerina, My lower back used to bother me a lot. May I suggest abs/core workouts if your area of concern is your lower back. Also make sure your shoes aren't worn out. That will slowly put unnecessary stress on that area as well.

jxbx, Yes! It's exactly mostly my lower back. Sometimes I have some pain spikes in the middle but those aren't constant, they are like lightning strikes and come very very rarely if I'm in a weird position. I've bought special insoles to prevent stress on lower back or shins and my running shoes have super shock absorbing soles. I think most of the pains are because of genes, not enough working out and sitting all day at school. My father has a bad back too and I don't want to end up like him when I'm old - or worse.

Even with the core workouts, if I lay on my back on the couch with my butt angled off, my lower back will start to complain. For work, I have a bar stool and my desk raised accordingly. This allows me to stand at times throughout the day. I find this helps when I'm working at length.

So you like run marathons or something? oh, what's bouldering? And very impressed with the skateboarding again. Ha! I tried it once. just as soon as my foot hit the board, my ass hit the floor! haha was pretty funny actually!

I was a footballer (soccer player) for the longest time. Coached and ref'd as well. I've only done two marathons in my life, over 10 1/2 marys and a shiton of 5 and 10k's. Bouldering is like rock climbing but w/o the gear and on smaller stuff. Yeah, skateboarding is what one is born with in southern California...hehe.

I have a apparatus which I hang up on the doorframe. I take max 11 hang ups now. It's good to use for push ups too, to really get down.

Worked great in the apartment too (metal doorframes). Unfortunately, we have wooden ones here that just somehow can't take the weight and so it really sucks because NOW I am strong enough to actully benefit from it! Ahhhh workout woes! Lol yeah, great for pushups tho if u have bad wrists!
