So the ' 100 interesting facts' thread was very popular on the old forum, but I decided to bring a less hardcore version over here as it can be difficult to find the time, these days, plus it means we can think of more stuff and post another 50 if we wish.
So, let's go!
----
1. I have no middle name.
2. My dad wanted to call me "Malcolm", but luckily I had a sister to outvote him.
3. At Primary School, I hated not having a middle name so I told everyone it was "Gold"....
4. I wanted to be a Ninja Turtle more than anything.
5. Me and my friends used to grab the piles of grass after the cutter had been and rub it all over our arms to try and make ourselves green, like the Ninja Turtles.
6. My mum used to try to get me to eat pizza (which I used to hate, if you can imagine such a thing) by saying that I'd never be a Ninja Turtle if I didn't.
7. Now, nothing short of the apocalypse would stop me from eating pizza.
8. I'm one of those freaks who likes pineapple on pizza. Pineapple and mushroom on a margherita pizza is my favourite.
9. I'm vegetarian for ethical reasons.
10. I'm aiming to go full vegan at some point in the future, but I love milk chocolate.
11. Easter Egg chocolate used to be my favourite kind at a kid.
12. Chocolate belongs IN THE CUPBOARD, definitely not in the fridge!
13. I've never been keen on crunchie bars, purely because I found a copy of FHM when I was 11 in which they advised to use one as a sex toy.
14. I was a 'square kid' at school.
15. This doesn't bother me at all because all of the most interesting and wonderful people I know were outcasts in some way.
16. The biggest trouble I got in at school was for pushing a girl down a flight of stairs as I ran past, which I was completely unaware of happening, if it did.
17. I used to love getting a jumbo hotdog at dinner time.
18. I call the afternoon meal "dinner", not "lunch".
19. I'm not currently friends with anyone that I went to school with.
20. My longest friendship is with my best mate, Matt, who I've known since we were 3 or 4 when his family moved in opposite us.
21. Matt was a year below me at school and we lost contact for a few years afterwards, but we both ended up being metalheads.
22. The first girl I ever remember 'liking' died of a brain tumour when I was 8 or 9. I don't think I really knew what a "girlfriend" was at that point, but she was a close friend at least.
23. I often wonder what our friendship would have been like had she survived for it to have gone on into adulthood and how that would have affected my life.
24. I don't remember what her name was which really bugs me.
25. My only memory of her is when we were playing in the playground and I playfully held her against the wall - I was about to kiss her, but then my sister appeared walking through the pathway opposite and I got too embarrassed.
26. I was bullied for being overweight at high school. I wasn't huge, but I was the fattest in the class.
27. I used to hate having attention drawn to me and, despite my protestations, our tutor once got everyone to sing "Happy birthday" to me and everyone sang "happy birthday dear fatty".
28. I've been insecure about my weight for most of my adult life but, for the last few years, I have been more or less happy with it.
29. I consider myself an inexperienced kinkster.
30. I had waaaaay too many fillings when I was a kid. I haven't had many at all in the last decade or so, but I've probably had 10+ overall.
31. Ironically, I get complimented more on my teeth than anything else.
32. I had my first girlfriend when I was 17. She was 24 and we met online.
33. I thought I was in love with her and we were trying for a baby in the week I went to stay with her (she lived in London).
34. It weirds me out to think that my personality wouldn't have evolved to be what it is now, had we been successful, because I was a long way from realising who I was and embracing my"alternative" music tastes etc.
35. I was painfully shy in my early twenties, due to undiagnosed Bipolar and crippling social anxieties.
36. I made a habit of disappearing on nights out and at parties, just slipping away when no one was looking.
37. I had a long patch of being single at this time, my next girlfriend after 17 was when I was about 25.
38. That relationship lasted a month and I ended it because she was crazy and abusive.
39. My next girlfriend was a member of this forum under the username sezzabelle.
40. She took me along to a DT camping trip (including Olly and riannasaurus) which was how I became friends with people from this forum and I became active soon after.
41. We split up after 10 months on good terms, but she left the community behind.
42. My family has always wondered about my sexuality, since I've always been shy about talking about girls and so never talked about anyone.
43. My sister once asked me "you're not gay, are you?" and my dad gave me a look that made it clear that the answer had better be yes.
44. I've always struggled with the idea of "masculinity" because I'm quite feminine and sensitive, but in more recent years I've worried about it less.
45. I don't believe that anything a man can do can be classed as anything but a "masculine" trait, and same for femininity.
46. I got married to another man (or rather, his gender-fluid alter ego, 'The Golden Stranger') at Download Festival last year, which is valid for 12 months.
47. The first time I had sex, my partner started having an asthma attack and we had to stop to get her inhaler.
48. "I am a horse for a single harness, not cut out for tandem or teamwork"
49. I was terribly codependent in my early twenties and still slip every now and then.
50. My short-term goal is to go towards whichever life endeavors intimidate me.
