Tracked my guitar parts for 8 hours yesterday. I'm exhausted, but I laid down everything we needed and then some. I had this one guitar solo that I didn't "finish." More of an improv piece when we play live. I thought it was gonna take forever but I ripped one out on the first take and kept it. Trying to get the .wav file so I can hear it again and commit it to memory...hehe.
So fun, I wish I could do that for a living...really!

I'm in the final stages of producing a new track. I've hardly done anything on it for a couple of months but the ball is rolling again.

On the band front... Our old singer ended up having to move to Northern California shortly after finishing and distributing our last CD. Such a bummer but the split was good and all. We did our last show in San Jose, CA at the end of August and the rest of the band look to reset. In the interim, I ended up joining a weekend warrior jam band....hehe...but that's another story.
Anyhow, the old band talked to and emailed a bunch of singers we knew from prior projects and from responses to Craigslist and flyer ads. We held a few auditions. It's unbelievably hard finding someone that can do rap, punk, funk, and rock...hehe. That being the case, we looked to focus on singers w/o the rap element...and we found one!!! I'm really excited to work with her. She's got an Amy Lee/Brittany Howard thing going on and we covered "Zombie" as well as "Criminal" just for the audition so she could showcase he vocal chops. She just finished working with a rapper on another project and now she's looking to front her own band...and were it!! Joy!!!

Me tonight! Big UK wide charity event tonight, so I'm volunteering at Prudhoe Castle and playing with my musical partner in crime who's packing Northumbrian pipes and a hurdy gurdy. Apparently I got onto the TV.

Anyone write music while listening to music? Hehe...I did it last night. I had the Download festival playing on the tele while I wrote a riff/verse and chorus. I wonder if I ripped off the band that was playing

Yay jxbx That chickadee gots da soul and you all sound amazing ♡ good stuffs indeed Thanks!!! I can't wait to see what we come up with!!! I always wanted to work with a female vocalist. She can really belt it out, which I regret not having a good take to put on the video. Her vox would overdrive my little recording unit...hehe...my fault though, I had the gain a bit high...next time!

Catching up on threads here.
I decided to try my hand at the Ukelele this summer. I really love it! I also just scored a free upright Kohler and Campbell. Just have to get some piano movers to move it here and then tune it up. Gah! So excited! I have not had a piano since I was 15.

I looked at a 6-string Uke last summer. It was strung like a guitar, but I thought better of it. I'd like to get back to piano one of these days...time!!!! My son just scored an alto sax. My brother-in-law's dad bought him one out of the blue. They both play the clarinet and he thought he might like the sax as well. My son is digging the sax and he can make it sound good!! Got him playing "Careless Whispers"...haha...

Hehe...I swear I think it was the Sax Man that influenced him!!! That or the cover band I was in a while back played a cover of a cover of "Careless Whisper" by Seether...hehe...still there? Anyhow, I'm thinking he mighta picked it up there when I was listening to both versions trying to figure something out. Either way, Sax Man rulez!!!
