I got my DD-500 for $320 out the door shortly after they came out. Looks to be roughly the same now.

That's not horrendous.... Sometimes I wish there was somewhere you could go to try all these pedals out

That's not horrendous.... Sometimes I wish there was somewhere you could go to try all these pedals out danzia, yeah but it's getting up there. It is worth the price IMO, the thing is a workhorse. Both, Guitar Center and Sam Ash in my area will let you try 'em first. You could even buy it and bring it home then return in 30 days if you don't like it. All of the smaller, more boutique stores in my area will let you try 'em as well but most don't have that 30 day thing. I have to bring my own guitar 'cause I'm a lefty, you would have to bring in your violin. I bet money they will love to let you go through as many as you'd want. They will be intrigued how effects will sound with a violin! Shoot, I would be too!! Don't be surprised if you end up having people hover over ya though. I usually go early in the morning, before all the teens wake up...hehe...it's easier to hear myself and get more alone time with the pedals

Quick question: How long does it take for your drummer to set up for rehearsal? Or a gig for that matter? Ours is seemingly dragging ass lately, taking, I shit you not,...30 minutes to set up for rehearsal. I swear, I might just start showing up 15 minutes later

Is your drummer sober? Sobriety may be the problem. I've seen This is Spinal Tap...

Lol!!!!
So my drummer is not sober and he takes about 10 mins to set up. He is known for doing strange things such as .... Drove to a gig to drop his gear off. Drove back home (center city to south philly), walked about 4 miles to the venue and then played the show. At the end of the night, walked 4 miles to get his car, drove to venue to get his kit and then drove home.
....
He is also the most lovely and least cocky drummer I'm ever met in my life.

Is he an introvert? That sounds like the kind of thing I might do to avoid having to offer anyone a lift, so that I could go home alone ha.

"The future's uncertain and the end is always near."
Unfortunately, our singer lost his day job. The good part is that he's getting job offers but they're up in the San Jose, CA area. He, and his wife, are originally from that area so it's highly likely that's he's gonna take one up there if the job is a fit. San Jose is roughly a 5-6 hour drive from where we are at now.
It's never great to lose a job and he has a full blown family to worry about so we all get it. It just comes at a sucky time 'cause we are set to start recording our second album this weekend and then every weekend for the next month. Hehehe...I just gotta laugh.
I'm starting to wonder if we should just abandon the endeavor and cut our losses now or go on with the album and call it quits after it's done. What would you do?

And to add insult to injury, we got a good spot on a good stage for the local fair this summer...hehe. Played there for two of the last three years and it's a blast!
Good news though, he got some interviews lined up locally so we'll see what happens.

Thanks buddy!
It ain't the first and probably won't be the last time a band I'm in comes and goes. Sometimes it's good to go, but this time would suck because we get along and work together great. So rare in most cases.
My buddy runs a local rehearsal studio and he swears he should charge for musician and band psychological advice...hehe. Then again, who's he kidding, if they're a musician they ain't gonna have the money to pay.
