Looks good IMO but it's your opinion that matters. Perhaps add a little brown to make it less. Or is your hair auburn hard to tell. On a small screen.

I think this is my first viewing of your timeline. I may have missed it if you said.. How far along is your current set ? Love the bleached portions. Something I could definitely see myself doing further along. Right now ive just got the ombre effect going on from my last dye (before dreads-2years ago). & "Hello there charlie.. " ?

They just turned 8, and thanks! I've never really posted much to my timeline, so a lot of people don't see it right away. In fact, I remember a few years back my avatar pic was a shot of the back of my head for ages and we had a group of new users who assumed I was female, for some reason... maybe because my username sounds "feminine"? Anyway they had a shock when I next updated ha... do you remember that danzia? Haha thanks acidburn but, just to be clear, I'm not unhappy with how it turned out!! I was talking about a previous time I'd bleached them too high for my liking, in answer as to why I wouldn't bleach my whole head. Just wanted to clear that up because people seem to think I'm not happy with it ha.

8, thats awesome! Thats too funny about thinking you were female. I think i remember first reading it on the website and also first notion I assumed girl. Couldnt tell you why. your user appears on tapatalk as "admin". Was this a choice thing?

A few things here, well, this is MY first time seeing this as well. so, kinda resemble Jonathan Davis in the early pics with those glasses (probably my first real like dreadhead I've seen. Btw, love Korn too, but ehh anyway) So, awesome! I gotta say, well the bleach looks good (especially in that hat!), but I, and this is just my opinion, au natural is best! Like, embrace what you have! Sorry, I'm a little awkward in saying this because it really does only matter what you think, and I don't want to make this sound as a criticism. Maybe it's the bleach thing that makes me cringe and or sour feelings that a supposed friend of mine told me once that'd I'd never pull of blonde. Whatever! Lol idk, but I'd say, natural would look great too, maybe thats what I'm saying. The highlights (oh, and couldn't you DO like a non bleaching highlight? I did that once, I think. Idk I was in a salon and whatever they use). Uh, oh so like the highlights "highlights" certainly do well, highlight the dreads, which is cool. Oh gosh, I should delete this or maybe edit it on the PC. I'm so awkward You look great though! Nice to see you and all the stages! Actually, the short style looked really good on you, tbh! Gah, ok, I'm gonna just vent here since y'all see it anyway, I am impatient with the growth of my dreads rn because my straight hair is long and well hubby and I both like it long but, I want them all the same length too. A partial problem (eh hehe no pun intended, but hey it works-patial dreads) is that I may have to train my current hair stylist, how to cut around them and my fear is she'll accidentally, tear them out at the roots! (A bloody mess! Lol oh I have actually been saying like that for awhile now, but heehee ok sorry busy laughing at myself rn) um, okay, I'm ....okay rn. Loli promise! (Ah, sorry, perhaps another insiders joke!) Bye bye!

olivebreath as far as I can tell, the only reason my username is "admin" is because I created the forum lol. I didn't have a choice for anything else. It really sucks because I wanted to keep MacabreMagpie (which I had on the other forum for like 6 years), but luckily on the desktop site I can set a "name" to appear by, so it's just on Tapa that I don't appear as what I think of as my real "username". Which sucks, but whatever. But hey, I'm a feminine male anyway, in some respects, so I don't mind. ;p @vacantalleyways lol it's fine, you can have opinions! But as far as I go, I didn't do anything colour-wise to my first set of dreads which I had for four years and I didn't like just having my natural colour. Mostly because I don't like my natural colour. But also I think that my hair being half-blonde from the cheeks down makes my face look less round, which is a good thing lol. Oh and I get the Jonathan Davis thing ALL THE TIME. I went to see a band live a few years ago, for which I was at the front row, and they even stopped the damn gig to ask if it was him in the audience lol. And I even had a father ask me if I'd have my photo taken with his 14 year old daughter, once, because she was such a huge KoRn fan. It's only annoying because I'm not trying to look like him - last year I decided to change my appearance slightly (mostly why I started wearing a hat more) for a music festival that I go to, and it worked in that I stopped getting Jonathan Davis comments.... and I got about 10 people telling me I looked like Rob Zombie, instead. I can't win lol.

I am still tempted to do this, btw, but I don't know if I'll ever go through with it.

Almost thinking the same mate. It's the dare to do it. You can be short and styled and ( well, red dwarf out back). There's a pic I have of a dude with the best styled skin head and dreads that work. But it has to flow, front to back.

Exactly, the only thing that puts me off is thinking about how much more work it'll be to maintain the un-dreaded bits and I'll have to start seeing a hairdresser again and stuff. That'd be a shock after 8 years in which my maintenance routine has been getting up, going "yup, I still have hair" and then forgetting about it.

Never cut the sides as short as I did. Keep it to a cm. The top hair ( I know your hair line) will stand up if a few cm longer and look thicker( stuff you could wash regular in shower) and from the crown back a tail of extraordinary dreadlocks. It really will make a difference on the cut. You can create movement from front to back and it will all connect. I know, my fear if I did it is two separate hair-do's front and back. That's a no no. But avoidable. It's a craft. Doesn't need much thought but just enough not to fuck it up. Uh- oh.
