You know where this is going, so let's start the party. We can discuss everything concerning skin care, but about skin concern. Like a rash on your skin which itch, sometimes a doctor have to see on it.

I have eczema, among my other shit, but it really only typically bothers my fingers and toes. Sometimes the rash behind the knees if like say I sit at the computer too long. Haha I kid! I kid! Nah, just if I keep it bent too long. Its usually only one leg too (although, now I try to switch legs I sit on or recross them often) but yes, fingers and toes get really ugly in winter and thats why I am always whining about my hands. but again, some other issues there as well. like this inflammation that makes the digits all red and hot and then ...yeah, too early for this shit. May never say more either. under doctor care tho, Oh gah! Saw your post and now am awkward, but posting anyway. Can share my "regime" or tips later, when im awake or remember. Although, I can say Cortizone10 is among them.

Sounds like your eczema is activated by friction, and cold weather (Mr. Obvious, duh). I don't know how to treat it, but I use to slather on moisturizer If I feel it begins to itch. And people are surprised when they feel my hands, and I'm surprised by anyone who can handle having super dry skin on their hands.

I stick my face in water and put horrible face wash on that sucks the moisture out my skin then wash it and gradually look more haggard each day.
Nothing you buy really works, a good moisturiser yes, I actually forgot that I should probably do that. A lot of your skin is a reflection of your internal organs health. Probably why my face has turned green and fallen off.

Heh, those face washes are your skins worst enemy. But retailers keep selling them, cause money and most people don't know better. Meanwhile, they wonder why their skin looks like shit.
Something do work, but a lot is a hoax too. Like collagen in products which promises anti-aging benefits. The molecules are too big to penetrate your skin, but one thing it is good at. Is to make a silky smooth canvas of your face, so it's just a moisturizer.
A good aloe vera gel is nice as a moisturizer, but with some other moisturizing agents too. Cause aloe alone is just a sticky mess and not very mosturizing.

I went doing the oil cleansing thing for a bit, washing with A cold pressed castor and olive oil mix. It does actually balance or your skin oils. Only I got bad spots a few months later which wasn't connected ( deep giant poison way down under the skin horrible things) so basically went back to putting dodgy chemicals on my face. Actually they mostly contain alcohol and eucalyptus and strip your face of oil, which is the worst thing. A bit strange I do that as I respect the top of my head more. I'm not even sure I look in a mirror other than a passing glance, I'm too busy having conversations in my head in the bathroom to use my vision.

Haven't actually tried oil cleansing, it seems like a lot of mess. Unless I have it in a pump container. Gotta wait till I use a product with that up. I like to use up before I switch to something new, so I don't end up with a lot of expired products.
If spots, age/sun spots or spots from acne? If that's your concern, I'd like to suggest vitamin C-serum and sunscreen. And about the eucalyptus, there is discussions about whether it is good or bad. That the tingling sensation actually is irritation.
It's like lemon juice, dilemma bout that too.

Um, I forgot to say this... Ok, so I DO just itch everywhere at times...this is more of the summer problem, but where cortizone10 helps, or sometimes prescriptions if its really uncontrollable, or I get a bug bite or something. Once the bite was on my wrist and it literally swelled to the size of that wrist bone! uhhh, bites give me fever sometimes too! bleh! Scalp itch! Really hasn't been too bad, but yes, have to keep ears and scalp and neck and cheeks and...well, moisturized, right? And also the dreads themselves, else I DO get that irritation. Heavy vitamin and herbal supplementation and complete diet overhaul is the only thing that really works the best. So...yeah. Ironic how my "illnesses" make me healthier. Haha! but the search for good skin products, yes what a bitch! facial sunscreens in my case. I have a pretty clearskin, but with all of my problems, sunscreens just hate me....and/but my gramps had skin cancer, so like ...well f%#"$&!!! Right? edit: I can't believe I never finished this thought! Because of family history, I DO need to be careful in the sun. Looking into SPF sunscreens or oils, but I usually just wear long clothes, a hat, and glasses, OR I just stay out of the sun!

Yeah, it happens often. When persons get illnesses, they tend to get more healthy in other way. That's good though, cause a strong healthy person will deal with illnes a lot better if it was the other way around.
Hm, maybe sunscreens from Japan is more suited to you? They are more like a clear hydrating gel, rather than a white cream. I like the creams which give a little bit of white-cast, cause they are a good base for makeup to give that dewy look. But yea, I have left the western world of skin care. Cause it's bad and expensive, and the somewhat good stuff is really expensive. Meanwhile, you get good products in South-Korea at the drugstore. I stay mostly away from japanese skin care, since they tend to have a lot of fillers and less active ingredients.

yeah, well so I DO like my hydrating gel (Garnier, i believe) but of course it has no SPF. But I REALLY now am interested in oils, as I guess James mentioned here, but lipstic and Kezi and even Gillian were all discussing before as a use for SPF protection. Because really, i don't get THAT much sun, and so it would probably be sufficient.

Other than a basic spf50 sunscreen that i use if I'm out and about in the sun (being very pale and in Australia, i'd be stupid not to), the only other "product" i use these days is coconut oil as a moisturizer. I wash with water and try to drink a lot too (makes such a big difference-i look like shit when im dehydrated). My skin is a LOT better than it used to be. I also use a tiny bit of coconut oil on my shoulders and back - BUT ONLY RIGHT AFTER A SHOWER - for some acne there and it's been helping a lot for me. I also dont really use soap there cos it dries out too much (prob also cos i have HOT showers). Depends on the kind of acne/skin you have i guess. That's what works for me at the moment anyway ☺ It's great when you finally find what works for you

I work at lush and their skin care has helped my skin soooo much I used it long before I started working there. Also I get eczema behind my knees and my elbow ditch if I get too hot like my leg is bent or arm and the sweat makes it flare up. Dream cream is amazing for moisture and helps with irritated skin. I also use the herbalism face wash and they have a facial serum called full of grace that I use at night to moisturize that I use and then Indian healing clay like once a week for a mask and I'm looking for a nice sunscreen for my face but I'm skeptical because my face is sensitive and breaks out with certain things

I've tried many natural products but nothing worked really well for me. I have skin allergies and natural products are actually more likely to set them off than commercial products. For years now I've used the probably horrible chemically Mary Kay Timewise moisturizer, and for my face it's a miracle cream. It keeps my skin clear and as smooth as a baby's butt. When I forget and run out, then get too lazy to reorder it, within a few weeks my skin is dry and rough again. The effect is clearly deep,it's still smooth and very soft even if I've scrubbed clean. I have to use Coppertone sunscreen, I've tried a dozen natural brands with different ingredient lists and they all give me a rash.
At 48, I can tell you guys that what you do to your skin right now has a huge effect on what it will be like when you hit middle age. Two months ago I had to go through a 21 day cycle of topical chemotherapy on my entire chest, neck, shoulders and upper back to correct years of sun damage and precancerous/cancerous lesions (I'm an archaeologist and work outside, and didn't take care in my teens and twenties). It was incredibly painful and revolting, it made all my skin rot off. I'm taking good care of the new skin!
Sunscreen and moisturizer! Lather, rinse, repeat!
