Hey James Thank you for the welcome! Yeah Cornwall is a really beautiful place to live, originally from up North but been down here about 6 years. I have admired your set of dreads for a long time they are amazing . I will have to try and put a timeline together with the pictures I have but I'm a little camera shy and not sure about showing my ugly mug

Ah, you’ll get over it. We all got ugly mugs. Not many folk on here nowadays anyhow so you can pretend nobody is looking. Whereabouts up north were you?

I think there's a weird thing about people thinking the Midlands are 'up north'. I have loads of friends who call me a northerner because they live further south than I do lol.

Lived around a quite a few areas but I grew up in Lincolnshire countryside, I lived in Lincoln when I did an art foundation, Off a street down Monks road not far from the arboretum. But my family is originally from London and Derbyshire. I was living down south outside London but recently moved outside the Peak District randomly. I did try to get into university in Cornwall many years ago, driving down for the interview was the nearest I got. They call ya’ ‘bird’, down there, and ‘duck’ up here.

Only thing with the Lincolnshire wolds is how flat it is! I was born in Boston but bought up in Lincoln. I love the peak district and we was wanting to move there before we got an exchange all the way down here used to visit the neolithic sites of the Peak district regularly. Haha yeah they call you all sorts down here inc 'my lover' which when the old Cornish tesco driver called me it I was completely shocked! SketchyMagpie: Yes I've fallen in to that myself from everyone saying it to me when I go back up to visit

Hello! I just started my dread journey 3 weeks ago and I am SO excited! I’m gonna start a timeline soon. It seems like my dreads are progressing rather quickly, probably due to my hair being ridiculously curly. Stay tuned!

Long time lurker turned member.... finally!
I have started my second set 5 weeks ago, after missing them too much. I regretfully took someone's suggestion and cut the first set off (silly, I know!) because she said I was never going to find a good job or decent boyfriend with 'hair like that'....
I regretted it instantly, and began growing my hair to put in a new set as soon as I was ready.
Good job, and accepting boyfriend now, so BAM! in they went! I am looking forward to the journey ahead!
