Are we going to be treated to a torrent of abuse from you again this year or should I give you a toy to keep you occupied for a few hours? 😜 (just a gentle ribbing, not being serious) I am looking forward to it but I hope they go back to just being over-the-top silly. Last year I recall they went for a more serious tone and half the fun of Eurovision is laughing at it.

Nine Inch Nails just announced a US tour that has a "physical world only" presale, meaning you have to go to the box office to get the tickets and there will be none available online. I think that's a really good idea in terms of ensuring the tickets get in the hands of fans (especially after going through two mega stressful presales for their London shows, recently!), but HOLY FUCK, I would shit a brick if they ever do that here. For somewhere like London, you'd have to queue up overnight to stand a chance.

I think it’s more down to not having a tv or proper internet that I miss most live shows or these ‘communal’ events. And having not been a part of the Eurovision cheese loving in the past, it’s something I’ve never watched. Although I’m sure the acts are better now so it’s less giggles and more about serious well made pop. If that’s up your street. I’ve never watched X factor, the voice, an episode of a soap drama. But seen plenty of violence and murders on tv. I loves me a good killing!

Who was that bearded man in makeup who pretends to be a bearded lady? I can’t quite put my finger on why they won. There was something different about them. Ha. I’m just pretending to be ignorant, it makes me laugh.

I can’t imagine what NYC will be like with fans trying to get NIN tickets.
So someone offered me Depeche Mode tickets. They’re expensive. Should I take it?

I don't think I like them enough to see them at the prices they charge, at this stage in their career, but I'd like to see them. Depends how much you like them, I guess. Did you go for the ticket??
I heard an account of something this morning that honestly moved me to tears. Well, not quite, but I was choked up. It was a female swimmer who found herself being followed by something underwater which they realised was a lost baby Whale. She had to stay out in the water with it so it didn't get beached and they began to bond, the Whale letting her swim in it's slipstream, whilst they tried to find it's mother. They eventually did and the woman was worried how the mother Whale would react, because they can be aggressive towards humans around their children, but she felt like the baby communicated that she'd helped her. She was able to stroke the whale which she said was the size of a bus, next to her. Then the reunited pair swam off and she was taken out before she got hypothermia.
I always find moments of human/animal communication to be profoundly beautiful.

I've actually been thinking recently about potential careers working with animals (which sounds weird seeing as things have been going well of late with the art). I think, if I don't make much progress in the next year or two, I might look towards that instead as I think I'd find it very fulfilling for the above reasons. Like maybe work in conservation projects or at a sanctuary.

Reading the “relationship questions” page on reddit is an eye-opening experience. Just seen a question from a girl who is confused because her first boyfriend considers it “gay” and “emasculating” to thoroughly wash his own ass and so every time she tries to initiate sexual contact, she’s put off by the smell and she wanted to know if this is a normal guy thing.
I mean..... what?

I was thinking that I seem to have an adverse reaction to being in direct sunlight for more than 20 minutes, as I always get nauseous and languid if I can't find shade, which then knocks me out for the day. I've seen other people report the same experience online but I'm not aware of any term or known "thing" that it can be attributed to... I have the same thing; and it doesn't help that my dog is really old now (and didn't do well in hot weather when she was still young). My main form of exercise is/was going for long walks with my dog, but the walks are getting shorter and shorter now, and I spend more and more time just standing around waiting for her while she catches up after sniffing somewhere. And it feels wrong to just go for walks without her... And yes, I'm always puzzled by people who just sit out in the blazing sun for hours on end; it tends to give me a headache and make me feel completely drained. I spend most summery days in shade or inside. With the warm weather lately, it feels like summer is already here, and will even soon be over again... I caught myself thinking 'oh wonderful, autumn is about to start!' when I went outside on a chilly evening the other day. I've just stared listening to the Halloweenies podcast, which isn't helping! Mind you, I don't do too well during cold & dark November, December and January either...

Yeah I went out on Saturday morning to get something and I then felt too ill for the rest of the day to do anything productive. It's not pleasant.
Sorry to hear about your dog getting old... it's sad when we see pets age. I saw a thing online a while back where a photographer had placed shots of different dogs as puppies and in their old age side-by-side and it nearly brought me to tears lol. You can see the years on them.

I'm appearing on a panel at the convention, this weekend. I think I'll feel less nervous about it when it comes around because it's the last panel of the day so I'll probably have met most people in the audience by then, but I might have to take a trick from danzia's book and have a gulp of alcohol before I go on stage!

Speaking of nerves... We’re playing a huge show in Brooklyn tonight. I am terrified!

Haha I always get the shakes if my blood sugar is low (been tested for diabetes and it came back negative), so I think I'd be in a worse state if I tried to talk on an empty stomach whilst also a bit drunk.
Have fun in Brooklyn, you'll do great. Wish we could be there. Please share any videos etc!
