Ha, what an evening I had on DT. There are big spiders in some of the older posts, careful where you go.

I do like me some spiders.
Omg I had my first practice with my new rig.
Wow. The sound is ... phenomenal. The guitars and violin and no longer competing and the frequencies are totally different. I cannot wait to record with this. It’s the tone I’ve been dreaming about.

The hot weather had deprived me of my long walks all week until it cooled down a bit yesterday and I was able to get one in, which benefited me no end. I know that probably sounds weird - too sunny to go out?! - but I walk for exercise rather than leisure which is difficult when it's hot and I get quite a pace going.
I was thinking that I seem to have an adverse reaction to being in direct sunlight for more than 20 minutes, as I always get nauseous and languid if I can't find shade, which then knocks me out for the day. I've seen other people report the same experience online but I'm not aware of any term or known "thing" that it can be attributed to...

I honestly expected it would take me a lot longer to find my last post on this thread. I only have Tapatalk on my old phone as I had some issues getting it to work on my new one, so I don't look at it often, and I barely look at the FB group. I probably don't even qualify as a mod there these days. Seven years passed in April. I think James probably has a recent photo of my hair, but I don't. Funny how you start out so excited, regularly marking out the weeks, then it gets past a certain length of time and it's 'Meh! It's just hair. Nice weather we're having

I've been thinking of handing the admin of the FB group over to someone else as I don't have the time or interest to look there anymore, but then it seems to manage itself OK.
Congrats on the seven years! Mine just turned ten (or what's left of them at least)

Mine will be 10 this year too. I never expected to have the same set this long or for time to go by so fast.
Do you have any fairly big woodlands. I have a couple about 40 mins walk away, then you are walking in the cool shade on a sunny day. I did another 11 or 12 miles yesterday just walking along the canal and woodlands in a circuit. I’m going to find a different route next. If I do 15 more that’ll be 50 miles in a week. I should start running, do it for fitness rather than pleasure. Although my walking is more of a fast hike than leisurely.

Aye that'd be nicer, there is Cannock Chase (which I have to walk along a canal route to get to) but that's more of a day-out type of thing. When I do my local walks I need to fit a work day around them lol.
I was thinking recently that I'd love to live in times where a lot of expansive lands contained undiscovered places and you could just go off and explore and live off the land. I've been learning about a few explorers from the old west, recently and thinking "hmm that sounds like a life I'd enjoy".
Of course, I'm conveniently forgetting that half of them wound up skinned by aggressive tribes or dying in the middle of nowhere from exposure....

Since I didn’t grow up around here, I’m still finding new places. But it gets repetitive doing the same route, so I’m still finding that little bit of unknown by exploring. Trying to get out in The Peaks more ( so I need a bus) as I think I’ve found most places that are nice within a 6 - 12 mile walking distance. I’m sure most folk who lived here forever rarely walk further than 30 mins. I’m always surprised how empty the woods are, and the fact I never see kids playing in them. Different world after school now. But yeah it does turn into a day long mission, accidentally walking further than you planned.

It’s so nice to see activity here! Weather here is very hot! We seem to have skipped spring and went right to summer.
Congrats on seven years Sarah ... and ten years Paul!
And it is funny, I haven’t been so good about taking photos in the past year or so. My hair is just like this now... doesn’t really phase me anymore.
Who’s excited for Eurovision?!?
