So on my two oldest dreads (i think they're almost three now?) the last three inches or so of the dread body are looking super fried, split ends everywhere, broken bits of hair, just not looking nice. Aside from cutting off the ends, do you think a tiiiiny bit of really gentle conditioner might help? Im thinking of getting a light conditioner and then diluting it, or just using it on the outside of the dread, just to maybe clean up the nasty looking bits. Thoughts?

Haha yeah, that sounds about right... you should see my ends.
If the alternative is you cut a few few inches off (or, you could comb the ends out and then try a bit of twist and rip on them) then it can't hurt to having a go at conditioning them, first, is my two cents.
Worst case scenario, it'll loosen your ends up and it'll be easier to cut them off without having that "sliced off" look. ;p

I've had to cut nasty ends off. It helps in the long run! I think if I tried conditioner, it'd make my loose fro hair on top get larger.

Im thinking of trying it just on the ends. I rubbed some coconut oil into them today and it kinda helped, so I might just keep that up for a little bit to see if itll help more
