So when I first started my dreadlocks I bought some little 5 inch Extentions from Etsy. My dreadlocks will be 8 months next week and I feel like they are ready if I wanted to add them to my hair. I'm still torn to if I want to add them. I like the idea of watching my own hair gain length. I just don't want the Extentions to go to waste they were expensive. Has anyone added Extentions to their dreads? Did you like them? If anyone has any pictures that'd be cool too

Hm, I would suggest trying to sell them with the quote such as "Dreadlocks extension, never been worn cause of changed mind". I don't have any experience with it, but they can be fun if you want some other color in your hair : P

Hey ohphob, we have a tutorial for adding extensions in the FAQ section (you'll just need to scroll down a little): dreadlocktruth.proboards.com/thread/22/modifying-dreadlocksIf you're on tapatalk and the link won't work, you'll need to go into the main forum list and then it's Dreadlock FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions > Modifying Your Dreadlocks

I had kanekalon extensions in my locks for maybe 4 months. I really really liked my extensions alot but they didn't work for my hair type as they didn't allow my dreads to really mature and bulk up as much as they wanted. That obviously doesn't mean they will do that to your locks since mine weren't as old as yours when I added the extensions. Unfortunately there aren't any photos of my whole head with extensions. Also kanekalon started to smell really weird after a few months.

I added extensions while mine were at an awkward length to tie up and I loved them. I've since removed them so it's all my own hair except for one tiny bit that will be too much of a pain to remove. I'd say do what feels comfortable for you, it's your head and you can always remove them at a later point if you get fed up with them.
