Hi, I hope someone can help me! I have very VERY soft, slightly curly Caucasian hair. 6 weeks ago I got dreadlocks. The salon that did them first said they would do backcombing, but the day I arrived they did teeny braids, then attached extensions. They used a LOT of wax, which is still very much there even tho I shampoo about 2-3 times a week.
The problem: I now have some little braids sticking up/out in little loops. I have tried backcombing, spraying with saltwater and palm rolling. In the back the braids all pulled out so I have a row of tiny braids at the nape of my neck.
Also some of the braids came undone at the end, so a few inches down there are fluffy little tails sticking out of the fake dreads. It looks pretty awful. Oh and the extensions are black but my hair is light brown.
Is there any way this is ever going to settle down? Should I keep back combing where my little braids are, or leave them alone? They’re tight and not apt to agree to being combed.

They will settle down, but I personally would take them out and do them over yourself, wash all the wax out and start fresh, just do back combing or twist and rip,it can be a little hard to find a good hair salon that actually knows how Caucasian hair wiyh dreads should be done, that's why mine r over 3 and I haven't been able to find anyplace I trust to do maintenance on mine..but if u don't wanna waste the money that u already spent on them then just leave them and keep doing the wash twice a week and maybe palm roll after each wash and eventually they will fix themselves, anyway u go they will get messy and it will take time..be patient is the best advice I can give ya..Goodluck 😁

Thank you! That makes me feel better.
I might take them down and redo.
