How to care for synthetic dreads (DE)?

Hi, I’m in need for some help.

I put in DE synthetic dreads the other day, and I’ve been searching all over the Internet for information on how to care for them, but I haven’t really found anything except for how to wash and install them.

I’d like to know how to maintain them - like, how to keep them good-looking, not unraveling or getting too frizzy. And if you have any other advice it would be awesome because I’m all new to synthetic dreads.

I’ve bought organic coconut oil because I read that it can be used to care for them, but I’m not a hundred percent sure on how to. Also, I have a big scarf that I’m gonna wrap around it when I sleep to avoid the dreads to unravel or get too damaged because of the fraction when moving around.

Any advices?

Hmmm. I'm afraid that I can't think of anyone who is still around here (the forum is rather dead, sadly) who has synthetic dreads that might be able to give you first-hand advice.

Are you a member of Facebook? If so, we have a group on there which is where all of our activity is these days and you'll probably find a lot more luck searching for answers.

Also, some people might get all dreadlock elitist if you bring up synthetic dreads but, don't worry, the mods will tell them off if so.
