Hi new here and i was just wondering why you should or shouldnt use wax? My wife and i are currently putting dreads in my hair and we bought wax but i resently read not to use it so i was going to get like as many opinions on this as i can. And if i should use wax what is the benefit of it? Thanks Nim

You'll get a resounding no here. You can find out more info why by checking our FAQ but the short version is it does nothing to help the process and never fully comes out. The only benefit is people feel like it makes their dreads look better right off the bat - which it can if used in tiny amounts - but most dreadheads will be able to spot waxed locks from a mile off. So yeah, your best bet is to avoid it you can also find video tutorials etc if you search LazyDreads on YouTube.

Yeah, it prevents your hair knotting and forming dreadlocks, can trap damp and make your hair go mouldy, icky and sticky... and it's wax... in your hair, not easy stuff to wash out dreads.
