I'm super excited! Just ordered 4 packages of henna hair dye! I can't wait for it to get here. However, I haven't dyed my hair since I dreaded it!
I'm not exactly sure what to expect I decided to err on the side of caution and get enough dye to cover long curly hair. My dreads are not fully mature and I have a lot of partials now that I don't have the wool in anymore. If you have any advice or tips I would definitely appreciate it.
I think this one calls for before and after pics, I'll post when it's done (and when I figure out how).

LOTS of rinsing.. And be aware you won't b able to re-dye your hair for a long long time after (other than with henna)

Well I did it, it didn't take as much henna as thought it would as my dreads aren't as dense as some others. And yes the rinsing was quite an adventure but well worth it!
I don't think I will ever use anything other than henna because I like bold colours and I don't like chemicals like propylene glycol.
The red I used was called wine red and it turned out to be so much more! I expected some weak sauce red highlights and a few more red under tones but I got 'punch you in the face my hair is red' red! Couldn't be happier!

I've been super curious about using henna for my dreads. What brand did you use? Any tips? Photos?

Oh the rinsing. Basically you squish the dye in your dreads. I second the above that rinsing takes FOREVER. I've been tempted to dye my hair, go to a salon with dye in my hair, and pay them to wash it out haha.

My best friend is a hair stylist and I pay her to colour and more importantly, rinse out my colour. It also saves my shower from turning bright colours.
