I know most of us are gig goers.
It can't not be 'Nine Inch Nails' for me, since I've seen them 8 times, but a large part of that has been my experience in the crowd. They were the first proper gig I went to and my first experience of a pit and, holy fuck, I'll never forget that night for the rest of my life. And I've been fortunate enough to get on or near the barrier the last 4 times I've seen them..... I've definitely spoilt myself!
You can see me throwing devil horns in the bottom center of the screen here at around the 8 seconds mark.

Skindred for the energy and the pit, and crowd interaction. Puscifer for the variety between songs (they had a wrestling match going on and skits), gogol bordello for the acrobatics ^^

I think it was the year you were with us. I remember it being SO HOT and then they got the crowd to do the "newport helicopter" and OH MY GOD the breeze it created from 50,000 people twirling their shirts around was a godsend lol.

I've seen NiN twice. My first proper gig. Skipping school and heading to Brixton was the first main Uk Foo fighters gig after nirvana. Around 1995. Then I saw smashing pumpkins loads but the Mellon Collie gig in Birmingham NEC was out of this world. Trippy visuals and he did 5 encores and then just sat there telling people to go home because he wasn't going to stop until we left and kept playing. Levellers was always cool. A couple of gigs there. Oh and when pumpkins re started I saw them in a venue with a 500 capacity with a bar by the stage. That was ace. Erm. Terrorvision, Arcade Fire, Of Monsters and Men, built to spill, the damned, lots of others. But not so many recently. Where I lived along the coast in Southend to Leigh on sea down the promenade has a great free folk festival. There's 10 stages along the river, you don't know where to plonk your pudding and chill. That was always nice.

Yeah, I've seen them 6 times now (in 4 different countries) and they always do the helicopter. The download one was awesome but I prefer the smaller venues. Oh and my last gig I went to, with Sumo cyco was also cool (attractive frontwoman jumping in the crowd a lot and moshing with us ^^)

SubRosa and Rasputina are the two bands I'm seeing on a regular basis right now.
I would also put NIN and Switchblade Symphony on that list.

Ahhhh. Cool topic man! I've seen too many bands to count, but the most epic concert I went to was Jimmy Page and Robert Plant! I was extremely close to the stage and everything felt so surreal. It was a true dreamworld. They were amazing, playing all of my favorite classics. The most memorable moment though was the opening act. I can't recall the name of the opening band because this show went down in the late 90's, but the lead singer stole the show. She also played violin, and they were covering a Zeppelin song. As she was really gettin' down on the fiddle, she lost her footing and fell off of the stage. I felt soooo bad for that chick. Getting to open up for an epic Plant/Page reunion only to injure yourself in the process. It was towards the end of their setlist, so I guess it coulda been worse

Oh I forgot I saw The Doors ( fronted by Ian Astbury sounding and looking just like Jim with the original band) and David Bowie.
.... oh and Why? This is why.

I havent been to a gig in years, I used to go to so many that i cant even recall them (and extreamly drunk) I think my fave and last gig i went to was Inner Terrestrials maybe 3 years ago? The atmosphere was incredible and played an overall good set. I really need to start going out more!!
