It's utter bollocks that I can't register to vote anymore, without me returning to the UK and residing for a bunch of years. Best of luck to you guys xD maybe there will be a positive surprise instead of the latest trend of shit ones.

I've just realised I'm going to be at Download on the day of the vote. I guess I'll have to apply to do it by post?

I can't even face adding to this. It's too depressing. The general public are idiots. The idea of the conservatives for so many more years just makes me want to cry.

That's the problem, I can in no way see any outcome other than Labour losing again.
Though, on the plus side, the last three times I've been certain an election would go a specific way it's gone the opposite, so...

You just have to try to stay positive. Local elections today. I didn't even have a clue who the candidates were for my ward, though my Mum was saying the conservative candidate had actually been down and left some literature, and that he's very good at what he tries to do, but I just can't bring myself to vote Tory. Not now, not with what this government has been doing, and I know local elections are generally a different beast, and I shouldn't let party affiliations sway me. It should be based purely on the candidate.... but...
Personally I think every candidate should be independent, so you have to look at what they're doing within the community, and so judged on merit rather than anything else. It'll never happen though.

Although here's a sobering tweet I spied earlier: "The destruction of UKIP does not suggest a rejection of intolerance. It suggests the mainstream parties have embraced it."

I think the tragic attack in Manchester last night is going to swing the election the Conservative's way. I can already see the next fortnight unfurl... Theresa May hopes to bury any memory of the dementia tax by going full-force on anti-terrorism, Corbyn will be pressed and pressed and pressed to comment on it and will give a reasoned reply which will then be touted as "too pacifist" and weak. The section of the public who voted for Brexit with Muslims in mind will then be riled up and a great number of votes that would have been for Labour will now go the other way.
