I've had my dreads for 8 months now. Started in June2016. A month before my dreads I bleached the tips of my hair. I've never had dry hair or bad split ends. So I'm thinking it might have been from the bleaching & not using any conditioner since starting this journey. With all that said what do I need to do to help with dry split ends?? I've read where someone used coconut oil. If I do something like that do I just apply to my tips or start at the root? Or should I condition the tips of my hair? Someone even mentioned applying aloe vera gel? Please help!!

I bleach every 6 weeks or so and dye my hair straight after, diluted with conditioner.
A lot of people say not to use it but it's worked out fine for me - so give your hair some much needed TLC and use a good sulphate free conditioner.

Definitely bleaching and no conditioning will have that effect. There is no fix for ends already split, any damage that can be removed should be removed or it'll just get worse. You can definitely protect against splits with coconut or various other *light* oils, I'd recommend use just on the areas that have damage and on the tips in general to guard against dryness which contributes to splitting--a very light outer coating should go a long way toward mitigating the problem
