Lately, ive noticed my scalp is way more itchy than usual. I also noticed white spots (which i presumed were dandruff) on quite a lot of my dreads. This morning, after inspecting i came across this stuff. I never use any wax or shampoo with residue, i shampoo my dreads once per week but i shower everyday. My dreads are fully natural, since i have extremely curly hair (algerian roots) they dreaded up real nicely just by not combing it. Never had any problems with them until now. Anyone know how to get rid of this stuff?

If it's the roots ( white spots) of hair that's great. Just dead hair tangling in. It can be freaky to see at first. As for your hair and any bad scalp issues. Just continue washing as normal. If you think it's dandruff neutrogena t-gel works great. But your head will balance out don't worry. Just rinse lots after washing. Don't worry. It's fine.

it's not only the roots, its spread throughout the dreads. Some of them even have some hard white spots. Today, i used my Dready Dreadzz spray shampoo on one of those spots and it helped a lot, but it still isnt anywhere close to being gone. its also really hard to rinse every dread separately, since i have about 165 of them haha.

Is it the root balls and shafts ... are the flecks attached to hair or can you shake them free? I have issues with the roots and shafts making their way down the hair and with the entire root ball comming out and getting embedded in my dreads. I find the best way to deal with this is baking soda wash and vinegar soaks they don't make them all disappear but it certainly looks better after.

If it is the root balls then you can always pull or snip them off if you don't like the way they look. It's just the process of natural shedding.

What do you shampoo with? Do you ever use salt spray or bicarb?

This was posted in February. I don't think they are on here much, if at all, I could be wrong. So I doubt there's much point in posting here.
