Hello all! A little background if necessary: My dreads are 2 years old in April, were started with the twist and rip method, and have never been introduced to wax or other products. I've had them professional maintained just twice. I went the second time for maintence just two weeks ago and the loctician pulled my loops into my locks without my knowledge and expressed wishes not to. She used a crochet hook.
I thought I'd get used to it, but I absolutely hate they way they look, I much prefer the "messy" dread look on me. I dislike the way they look so much, I've considered brushing them out and starting new unless there is something I can do to get some of them to "pop" back out. I realize it's probably not possible, but I also know that it's highly unlikely any new loops will form considering the age of my locks. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for me!

The easiest way to dread is to let it go. The hardest way to dread is to let it go.

Stick a bracelet with a bunch of charms near your head and pull or maybe get your dreads stuck in some branches and pull...hehe. I'm not belittling your situation, but I swear that's one way to tease out looseness!
They will get back to the "messy" look in no time I'm sure.

No worries, I actually thought about it! 🙃 I hope they do, I really miss my loops! I'm just so upset that she crocheted them into my dreads anyway
