On the old forum, my name was oceanstars. In opening this forum in tapa, it signed me up as ouroborosdream. I realized that if I try accessing the forum from outside of tapa, I wouldn't be able to access it so created an all new account. So there goes the confusion! Yay. Now for real on the intro.
My name is Brandy but Naga is a nickname in real life too. I chose it for many reasons, but especially the serpent associations between my hair and me. Naga are known for being spiritual guides, supports, and protectors and more than a few people I am close to or have talked to one on one describe me as such at some point, particularly as a spiritual guide. I also relate to the many snakes rising from one head imagery for personal reasons.
I'm 28 as of half an hour from now at the moment I'm writing this.
My dreads are a free form set, began January 13, 2015. They mean a lot to me for layered reasons. In one sense they're part of what keeps me anchored, because I decided to let them form during a life changing hospital visit. My life and my own self has undergone many changes and shifts within the past year of their forming and I can't imagine myself without them at this point without a great sense of unhappiness. I call them my baby snakes. They (my hair in general) are strongly tied to my spiritual stuff, which is so tied in to who I am and who I'm becoming that there's no separating us anymore. The older my snakes get the more I know and accept myself, especially on the spiritual level. I can't quite articulate how important they are to me lol, or even why. I identify very strongly with gorgons, naga, Medusa, snake deities, etc. I feel like my babies allow me to indulge my primal nature while also allowing the ethereal a place to manifest physically.
I've been trying for locks for a few years now and this free form set is finally the right one. I've lived in three different places during their forming and so much has changed with them, which goes with the serpentine imagery and shedding previous skins.
Anyway, I thought it might be time to do another intro. Stay awesome, everyone.
