The easiest way to dread is to let it go. The hardest way to dread is to let it go.

Set my dreads over my pillow, play Boggle on my phone for a few rounds, toss/turn/think, clear my mind...sleep. If I go to sleep thinking of something, it will be a restless night.

I don't really have a specific ritual. Normally by the time I stagger to bed I'm so tired that I drift off fairly quickly. Sometimes I wish I could be one of those people who could take themselves off at a reasonably early hour and get a proper night's sleep, but my mind won't allow it.
Does falling asleep regularly on the sofa under the cat count? Sofa, inane TV, cat... it's a lethal combination.

I use a sound machine now as my neighbors below are a bit loud in the wee hours of the morning. So that goes on, and then I also put on a subrosa album. By then, I'm fighting the cat off to get into bed and under the duvet. Baal usually curls up in the crook of my arm. Then... sleep.

Clean, get water, take a puff, lay down with my dreads behind my head and pass out

Lay down, fight the dog for bedspace, toss, turn, watch netflix, fight the dog for bedspace, overthink everything for a couple hours, kick the dog off the bed, and sleep haha

I have wicked insomnia lately (go figure, the kids all finally sleep through the night and I still can't sleep)... My routine usually involves beer, and reruns of a favorite show... Then I can close my eyes and still "see" what's happening in the show, and fall asleep to it. Smoking works really well, but I tend to have a harder time hearing if the kids wake up.

Depends what's on each night. Doctor who, Star Trek (any of them), CSI, Supernatural, Ghost Adventures. I usually land on either BBC America, or Tnt, no 3am infomercials lol

Slightly embarrassed saying this, but I make up little stories in my head. It helps give shape to my dreams and I am a lucid dreamer. So not only do I remember my dreams, but I have more or less control over them as well.
