So, I wear my hair up in a ponytail ALL THE TIME. I have a small army of children and a farm. My hair is always pulled back. I'm wondering if dreads are a good choice for me because of this. I feel like they deserve to be down. Gathering energies, flapping in the breeze, living a life without constraint 😂. What do you think? I don't want to brush them. I love them. Just curious what your thoughts are. How often do you wear your hair up?

The easiest way to dread is to let it go. The hardest way to dread is to let it go.

Would your hair be pulled back even if you didn't have dreads?
I wear mine up or tied back off and on throughout the day. When I run, workout, cook, clean, eat, potty, etc. I know there's a time with young dreads where you're just trying to keep 'em out of the way of everything. May suggest trying to find a good hat or beanie to help keep them out of the way. Looser headbands might be good as well.

My dreads are tied up or back in some fashion or in a a hat probably 90% of the time. It'd drive me crazy if they were flapping in front of my face all day, which is where they choose to hang out, rather than behind my shoulders.

I'd wear them up either way, I always did before. Another reason I chose to dread them, because I can't stand my hair in my face either. I pretty much only wear them down when sleeping.
