Neutrogena is a brand. So I don't know what shampoo you are talking about. T-gel ( t-sal) is quite good with dreads. A lot of folk like using it.

Sounds good. It's all trial and error. When you find something that works ... great. I've had dread for 8 years now and only just tried using dish soap as I run out of shampoo. It works a treat. Lemon fresh.

Yeah so you don't really need to worry too much about shampoo. Use what you like. Everybody is gonna give you an opinion. But basically in the first few years you just want to find something that doesn't have conditioners or softeners etc, a basic shampoo. Something that health food shops sell. But later on you can use whatever shampoo you like. Because those ropes aren't going to undo themselves. Just use your common sense. I worried about what stuff to wash my hair with for years. It's not important, just use what you like. Well, after the dreads have permanently settled in ( year two ).

I like it also! I find it cleanses really well, but I concur with the extra rinsing bit! I am currently on the hunt for the perfect shampoo for my particular hair type, my favourites thus far, are the neutrogena, dr bronners peppermint (heavily diluted,), and the knotty boy bar soap is super user friendly. Not so favourite are the knotty boy liquid soap, and as well as it cleans, the dreaded sodium bicarbonate soak, with ACV rinse. My hair is like STRAW after a deep cleanse. π«
