Hi Everyone,
I'm excited to be back. I have been a long time creeper, and semi-participator in the past. But time has flown by, and I am now prepared to get my dreads.. Finally. A little bit about myself.. I am a longtime Skateboarder, Snowboarder, and all around easy going guy.. Id dare to say the most chill person in my group of friends and family. I love dreads, and have followed quite a few of your timelines from the comfort of my home.. wishing id be where a lot of you are one day. Well, I'm going to get it done and I thought I would post a before pic now, a few days before my friend helps me lock my hair up
She is going to use a combination of Twist and Rip + Backcombing. I have done my own sets in the past, but they just didn't hold up. Mainly due to my inexperience and lack of patience. They were rushed. But I am very optimistic about this run. She has tons of experience and her own dreads are gorgeous.
It was my understanding that the ideal length is about 5-7inches (Thanks to a few posts from MacabreMagpie) so I held out for an extra long time this go around. I have seen tons of posts from a lot of you guys, and its so encouraging to see so many people come together over this common ground.. Dreadlocks are amazing to me, and its time I had a long strange trip down the road of messy, unkempt, lovely and finally knotted up hair! Let me know any comments about hair length, I think its going to work.. Its incredibly thick haha so I have very high hopes!
Wish me luck, and I will see you again when we finish up later this week!!

The easiest way to dread is to let it go. The hardest way to dread is to let it go.
