Can't even imagine starting over now! I'm just embracing the ones I've got, and letting them grow and develop Me rather than the other way around. I've officially given up control, and left them to their own devices! With the exception of washing and separating, I'm not doing a damn thing!

I've got somewhere in the 80s-90s. More seem great until you have to separate all the time in the early stages. It all depends on preference! I like mine slightly on the skinny size but I have some bigger ones which are actually my favorites!

I have close to 100, maybe more? I will say that it greatly impacts the amount of time you'll spend separating in the early stages. I'm 4 months in. It takes me 30-45 minutes to separate every couple of days. I assume it takes a lot less time if you have far less. I also let my hair self section, in hindsight I would have had it evenly sectioned for ease of separation as well. It hard to determine the boundaries of each lock when separating.

I got 69 but should have like 65 since a few are tiny. ...but I guess I should have around 70 since I've got a few big ones that could be separated into 3 each. Seems like a lot of effort to try splitting them at this point, so I'll just leave them be.

I counted mine last night, going off the roots rather than the tips as I have several congos, and there are now only 33.

I have 36 (I started with about 48 and ended up brushing all the front ones out to bring them off my face which drove me crazy.) I also have one dread I turned into a braid and is now redreading from scratch. One dread has split from the root but is still attached at the end, and another has Congoed into one. My dreads range from sharpie size to jumbo cigar size, lots of different thicknesses!

I counted 198 the other day but could be out by a couple, counted in bundles of ten after I got to 70...was a tedious procedure, ugh. But helps with much needed separating so will be adding to washing routine.
