Can you post the ingredients list?
Personally I think people worry too much.. I used the special shampoo etc at first but now, I just use whatever is around/on sale/etc. As long as you deep clean every few months to get rid of residue, all will be fine!

Its mostly chemicals dave ...didnt think I saw sls but people said it wasnt residue free...well opinions were mixed but I think I agree with you...maybe? Idk! I had residue though, and it was no good...and I ...but I guess mine were still new?!?? And or I used a heavily oiled soap vs. Shampoo...so probably this is fine. Come to think of it, I used spray on conditioner over the tight dreads and this was not a problem. yeah, just post the ingredients dustinanashley cuz I am not looking at it now, and some folks here are more knowledgeable on these chemical ingredients than me.

I just looked up the ingredients. It has a lot of 'cones in it, which are silicone derivatives, which in the case of body care products are lubricants. It's got other nasty bits as well, but for dreads applying 'cones will work against them. It's also quite likely to leave residue. I wouldn't use it. sadly, no. I mean, not that I know of. I use/used Dollylocks liquid shampoos or the Lush brand bars. The only everyday one is well, baby shampoo, but it probably has many of the chemicals. I believe it IS residue free though, so it's always there in a pinch! also, not a shampoo, but dishsoap (regular use, might be good to dilute it with water) and finally, the baking soda wash-I haven't done it regularly (only in the 3-4month deep cleanse head bath thing), so someone else might want to give better details on this. but believe me, I've been there, trying to find something cheap and readily available. If you have access to internet shopping though, I can say these dreadlock shampoos are worth the money...they last much longer, as you can use much less.

If you have Afro-textured hair I would be cautious with anything too drying, like dish soap. Here's a link to a list of shampoos that this website claims are residue free, and it includes shampoos you can find at places like Target, Trader Joe's, etc. I can't vouch for the info as I've only used two of the shampoos listed, but both worked great for me. ragingrootsstudio.com/shampoo-list/
