This is my second set of dreadlocks. My first set was backcombed. I wasn't happy with the sectioning so I eventually cut them off at around 15 months. It felt nice and fresh for a couple months and then regret set in. I went about 3 years and I found myself ready to dread again.
I love long hair, but every time my hair gets below my shoulders I shed like mad! I was practically swimming in hair. I was definitely in a predicament...How do I have long hair, but not shed so bad? Dread it...I thought of course. I thought if I dreaded, then I would eventually have long hair and no shedding.
My decision to go natural this time was easy. I wasn't in a hurry really, and I thought if I leave my hair to section itself, then the sections would look more natural instead of so boxy and forced. I was already familiar with the process and was much more relaxed about it this time. Once you go through the process once, you know what to expect.
so on December 25th 2013 I threw away my brush....and the rest is history..
