Hey gang.
I have been a bit slack on getting the timeline started and sadly I lost a bunch of pics when my laptop went kaput. I think I have them on a USB somewhere but I cant find it, if I do, I will add the earlier pics.
When I joined here about a year ago, I said It had been 2 years. I was wrong, it had been 16 months since the last time a brush touched my head, but nothing had happened in all that time. I was using a hairdryer and blowing it all apart, and trying to find the right hair washing product. I finally stopped using the hairdryer, I put one rip and twist dread in at my nape and suddenly got some natural dreadage happening.
So I say it has been roughly 1 year since my hair started dreading, whether you want to count the prior 16 months is up to you :-)
This was taken in around June/July of 2013, so a few months after I joined here, maybe 4 months after I put the single R 'n' T dread in. Apologies for the state of my skin. Yuk
Strangely, from the front my hair looks a lot more promising in terms of going dready than it does now. I was washing my hair every day then but lately I have cut back and have been having shampoo issues as well.
Here's the back, the same day.
And a couple of shots of the natural sections as they were slowly forming knots.
The loopy mess with a lot of buildup, is what we now know as the "Xeno-dread" (Thanks Rhi) and the "Dragon dread" (Thanks saralcat)..
Fast forward to today (21/3/14)
Here's the back
Yes, that is another epic shirt for my family to hate :-)
Doesn't look much different, wispier ends.
Now here is the one dreadling on top of my head near the front
and here are the others
the R 'n' T AKA Xeno/Dragon...lots of buildup again, crumbs, I'd better get some vinegar I didn't realise it was that bad. It only lopoks like the alien/dragon from one side, and is looking less so as it gets sucked in more.
1st natural dread
And the next
That one's gone a bit silly at the moment.
This one is in the back, still underneath, but higher up
Here is one from the right rear of my head, near the top, but still underneath
These 2 started as one section, which was fairly eell knotted down half the length, then split from the root over the course of a week, and I finally separated them when they were forming knots individually, but only hanging together by a thread
Here they are side by side
------------------------------------------------------------
15th of May 2014
Obligatory Aviator shades shot.
As you can see, not much change, it just sort hangs in sections and doesn't knot much.
Loops
And here's underneath, where all the action has happened.
------------------------------------------------------------
There are a couple more at my hairline near where my skull joins my neck at either side, but I forgot to take pics. I'll get them in next time. Hopefully there will be less soap scuzz too.
They seem to knot up perfectly straight for so far, then hit a point when they say "Fuck this we are entirely too tidy, let's party" then they start looping, and spitting hair out.
And that's it for now. I'll hunt for that USB, but otherwise, I'll try to get some pics every month from here on.
****************************************Feb2015 Update*****************************************************************
LOL, so much for updating every month. That'll teach me though, because uploading all these pics has been a proper ballache right now  here we go.
^^^Looks nice and straight doesn't it....think again, here it is turned slightly
New section knotting
and another
So, that's it for now. It is 3 years or so since the last cut and the last time it had any kind of brush through it. Almost there now.
There are a few very long tails that have stayed perfectly straight while the length above it is completely dreaded for over a year now. I'm considering trimming them at some point.
I'll post some comparison pics showing progress of individual dreads at the other end of the thread.
So... It's come a long way since the last update, it's much more swingy than swishy now. Finally :-D

22/3/2015
Just a few new pics.
^I know, I have no arse!
Closer
17/8/2015
Just a lil update.
Wasn't going to post this because of the bones in my back, but hey ho....
Not looking too healthy, but I'm happy with my hair. :-)

Hey gang, just bringing the party over here. I will make the pics smaller at a later date. I will also get some update pics for you.
