Hey guys. I am thinking about growing my hair out and letting it dread up. Thing is, I've gotten older and my hair ahs thinned out a lot. It has pretty much stayed this thin for the last 5 years and not gotten any worse but I still don't know if it will work with dreads. I'd like some opinions if you don't mind. Thank you.

I don't think there will be any issues, dread wise... But you may make the thin scalp areas a lot more noticeable between the dreads. The lads may be able to help you more on that

The easiest way to dread is to let it go. The hardest way to dread is to let it go.

Keith Morris from Off!, Circle Jerks, and Black Flag fame still wears dreads and his hair is thinning. My hair line is receding slowly but surely. I say if you like 'em, go for 'em!!!

I think you should try! I think wool rubbing would be a great way to start them because your hair is so short and the sections will sort themselves out pretty fast. My favorite sets on here are all from wool rubbing. If I had started with short hair, that's absolutely the route I would have taken.

I was inspired by dutchdreads (member on the old DT forum), which was inspired by this guy to start her dreads with wool rubbing.
