I'm always fascinated with stories from people's childhoods so I thought I'd start a thread where we can discuss what school was like for all of us and share memories. I know that a lot of us probably didn't have the best times at there (myself included) but anything goes so it doesn't have to be funny.
So, when I was at Primary School and we had our eyes tested aged 8-9, I cheated on mine because my friend was standing next to me and he whispered the answer to me when the woman giving it wasn't looking. I remember she'd looked down glumly, like "uh oh this kid definitely needs glasses" which was when my friend told me the line I couldn't see, and she looked up in amazement like "it's a miracle!"
Of course, I didn't realise at that age that this was a stupid fucking thing to do (glasses were far from becoming cool back then) and, because my friends all liked to sit at the back of class, this meant that I couldn't see a thing that was written on the blackboard and it was a real struggle to keep up with taking notes.
I didn't get glasses until I was 21, which is amazing, because I was blind as a bat without them.

You know i've almost blanked everything out from school. I wasn't ever bullied... Well properly, had friends... Well outcasts... Did well in class... That lead to nothing, drew Beano type drawing in my maths book... Got told off, did it in my science book... Got a pat on the back. It was all quite unimportant. When at a Primary school we went on a day trip out to the sewage works and then spent a week doing a project on it as part of a bigger water cycle project. Also cried all morning my first day of school at 4/5. I remember being embarrassed but couldn't stop. I don't think my parents or anybody had bothered to explain what school was.... I thought I'd been sent to prison and didn't know what I'd done wrong. But some other kid pooed his pants so that was all forgotten.

Apparently I was fine the first time I went to primary school and loved it up until we had our first week off and then I cried my eyes out for a full day because I didn't realise we had to go back.

We didn't have eye exams here in primary shcool. But I do remember that we got some vaccine. I was completely fine, the others was a bit "weird". My best friend at the time was almost unconcious.
It was nice for me until junior high. Loneliness, bullying, eating disorder, sucidal thoughts.
And yea, I don't feel it's too personal to talk about. This was just a result because of I was tormented.

Kids are shits. My friends got bullied but I never did, one tried once but my reaction was too abstract, he seemed confused as I didn't care and looked into his soul. And some big guy tried to headbutt me but by chance I leaned forward at him and he broke his nose on my head. Some complete looney strange kid started strangling me once who I'd never met, must have been mistaken identity... But in general I used to look out for those who got picked upon and wasn't a victim. I moved out as soon as I finished school, so that's the stuff I remember more, freedom. School was just unimportant, most the kids were shits at teen school so There was just a small bunch of us who hung and talked nonsense. I started a comic and everybody drew a strip. The best most professionally drawn one was by my mate and involved the maths teacher dressed as an Easter bunny raping boys. I'd given them to my mum who worked at a special needs school to photocopy and she was furious when she realised what she'd taken to work. 'What is this revolting filth, who drew it!' Ha ha. ( that maths teacher actually lost his job after I left for inappropriately touching girls, so we were pretty much on the mark there. He'd hold their shoulders and as he leaned over to look at their maths from behind his hand would slip down their top and other sneaky things. He always had a bit of dribble on his lip too. Dickhead)

Eck! Nasty teacher.
I was bullied, too, but never physically (apart from one occasion where I accidentally kicked a ball at this psycho kid and he turned around and blasted me either side of the head). Thing is, I was kind of stocky and I'd taken karate so I could defend myself if anyone started on me.
I remember one time, my best friend at school who was just as unpopular and "geeky" as me decided to try and score points by beating me up. I wouldn't fight him so every time he came at me I just did a leg sweep to take him down, but the really pathetic thing is that I didn't want to hurt him so I'd grab his collar before he landed and plant him down safely.

I wasn't physically bullied either....eh, no, one girl was throwing softballs at me. Ok ok, lobbing. But, cuz of my, unknown at the time, condition, it hurt...and she kept doing it too. (Shes the only one who called me the C word, and shes the only one who i call the f'n c! Wat a bitch) Had a couple instances of like mean teasing....but mostly I was ignored. Im serious! It really sucks! Er, sucked!

What was your worst school day trip? Like I said earlier, we went on a coach trip to the sewage works... I'm sure other kids went to fun fairs.

I'd never say it's something everyone SHOULD go through or anything, but I do find that the kids who had the worst times at school grow up to be the most interesting adults.
Rugely Power Station was probably it for me in terms of dud trips lol. There's a picture of me somewhere on that day with my super curly hair trying to do a superhero jump, I'll have to find it and post it.

Or the most sensitive...but strong willed? Idk. Well, I definitely have a great life here now, so maybe, you learn what you really want and you get what you deserve?? ? Idk. I kno it forced me to act differently...so, life did change...got oit of this dump town, got educated, met more openminded folk....but then moved back here lol but ...well, it isn't high school anymore and we just keep to the decent company anyway.

Yea, you have to be very mentally though. Usually you get thougher too. People often find me interesting, so brave and stuff. In reality, I'd just grown apathetic, kind of bitter and kind of anti-social cause of all the shit. I have never actually learned to make friends, just fending off damaging stuff.
I don't remember any bad school trips, It was nice to leave the shcool and do some "fun"

Hah Paul, we went to Rugely power station too. Worst trips were the ones to churches though! And not the cool churches with architecture and stuff.. Boring box-like ones with plastic chairs for seating. They felt more like prisons, but without the interesting convicts.
My best trips were in 6th form - me and 5 other students were the only ones taking the applied organic chemistry a-level, and for that we basically brewed beer and toured breweries for the 2 years ^^ most of the breweries gave us beer too. I also used to love the castle trips and ones into the lake district.
As for memories, one that stands out is we had a fundraising day, and I was rather cheeky back then. I wanted an excuse to be stupid, so asked someone to sponsor me 1p to stand on the table with a friend during a maths test (where the teacher was known for being a strict biatch) and we sang a little tune in the complete silence. My friend sat down before being seen but I got caught and suspended.
Another memory is some kid not liking how I tackled him in footy , so he grabbed a rock and split my skull open.

Too bad... Too much to say. School is the first topic in my cognitive behavioural therapy... Says a lot.

6th FORM! ^^ sorry, literally learning this only months ago! And wait, what Iis footy?? Oh man! Dave's story reminds me of the one I had on here before, but removed it. That boy in Kindergarten who got ME in trouble and the two of us missed out on the in-school field trip to the place where they get the milk cartons for the afternoon. I REALLY wanted to go to, because I just assumed there were like cows out back that they milked everyday and I wanted to be proved wrong. haha BUT...damn funny boy distracting me. hehe ok, so,...[my stories suck. moving on!] *edit: no bad out of school field trips. IMO we didn't get enough! (i loved getting out. Especially the hmmm I almost said the name of the museum! ^^ and the zoo!)
