So, I had a dream the other night. It was the short, vivid kind. I was standing in front of a mirror with a brush. For some reason, I started brushing out my locks. Since it was a dream, it was ridiculously easy to do so and only took a minute or two. I ran my fingers through my soft, untangled hair for the first time in a year. Then I was filled with instant regret, in disbelief. All I can remember is thinking "what have I done?!?" right before waking up upset.
If I did have any doubts about my hair, this dispelled them. My dreads are here to stay.
Anyone else have dreams featuring your hair? I'm curious what it means, that I'm dreaming about mine.

Well, if you believe in dream interpretation... "Most interpreters agree that dream hair usually represents aspects of the dreamer's sexuality or virility. Dreams of long hair are said to tell of a sense of wisdom. Dreams of having long hair cut off can therefore mean that the dreamer is concerned about a loss of virility or loss of that wisdom."
I don't though, so I wouldn't pay too much attention lol.
I'm sure I've had dreadlock dreams before but I can't remember them... curiously, I've had dreams about OTHER dreadheads I know cutting their's off and being upset about it but I don't think I've dreamed of cutting my own.

The only dream I can ever recall with me and dreads was one where I was dressed in some aristocratic Baroque attire and I was looking at my locks in a mirror. Oddly enough, this was a year or two before my first set of locks. Another life perhaps.

I've always been fascinated with dream interpretation. I don't take it too seriously, I'd probably put it in the same category as horoscopes and tarot cards. Fun to believe in but should be taken with a grain of salt.

I just had my first dreadlock dream. In it this person with really nice, mature dreads came up to me and we started talking. They said to me, "You're hair is cute. But I can tell you don't palm roll. I'm sorry to tell you this, but if you don't palm roll your dreads will never mature properly. You will just have sections of tangled hair." I was so embarrassed in the dream and went off and tried to find a way to palm roll my short dreads. Totally ridiculous, I know. But it probably does mean something, at least about my emotional or mental state.

I put my headphones on and was listening to a very earthy calming mix of music and drifted off into a peaceful sleep where I dreamed I had these super glorious long mature dreads all over my body. I just wrapped myself inside them and wished I could stay forever! Woke up too soon to find my hair is still shrinking ever so much. Fin

So I woke up from a pretty weird dream and thought I might share. The setting was in a dimly lit college dorm room, but there were rows of bunk beds as far as the eye could see... almost like in community kid shelters. All my bunk mates were guys (I imagine was due to always living in a house of guys, and never actually lived in a dorm). All my dogs were there which was also a bit strange. I would take ma books, go to class and my dogs would follow me everywhere I went. Being stressed that people were looking at me funny showing up with a caravan of dogs (already use to strange stares from having dreads and didn't need to draw more attention) I made them stay in the creepy dorm room as I headed once again to class. When I get back I find my babes have gone missing. I searched everywhere and couldn't find any of them. Finally I hear barks coming from a dark alleyway. I whistle and most of my furbabies come a runnin, but I now hear a whimper up in the sky. My dog Django was up on a 3rd story fire escape, crying out for me to save him... As I start up the ladder to help my sweet boy and as I ascend I see him go flying and falls hard to the ground. Now Ima freakin out..jump down to tend to his wounds and as I approach him my dreads start falling out one by one! I'm worried about my hair, but more concerned about him as he desperately crawls with all his might to be near me. I wrap him in ma arms and run to the vet with him struggling to breathe, all my other pups trotting at my side.. I get to the vet, it's closed! Not knowing what I should do I bring him back to the creepy dorm and all the bunks were full of sleeping men except one fellow who points out to me that I'm now completely bald! I awake in a cold sweat and feel a tugging on my head. Come to find out one of my dog's claws was stuck inside my dread and he was flailing about desperate to break free! Weird me thinks
