I was wondering if dreadlocks were possible for me. I have mixed ancestry, and my hair is really curly. I tried to lock a few strands away from my scalp and succeeded, but I'm worried about them coming loose on my head.

Curly hair is great for dreads, you've no need to worry about that!

The easiest way to dread is to let it go. The hardest way to dread is to let it go.

I'll argue that curly hair is the best for dreads. They provide built-in loops so getting to that loopy stage is already covered!!

To post a photo you'll need to upload to somewhere like imgur.com and then paste the link to embed the image here. There are lots of different methods, the best suited will depend on various factors like hair type/length. Take a look at the 'Starting Your Dreads' section of our FAQ: dreadlocktruth.com/thread/25/starting-dreadlocks
