Will it slow the process? I've got a ton of loose hair today. I had to wash my hair days after t&r because my scalp was freaking out.

I'll take a stab at this (no, pretty sure this is common sense but I am tired, apparently lol) Short answer-yes. It slows it. Dreads need to be free to move and knot up! (did I repeat that correctly, folks? Lol )

Ok. That's what I was thinking too. Thanks for confirming :-) it's hot and muggy here. I feel like I'm wearing a wool cap 😂

The easiest way to dread is to let it go. The hardest way to dread is to let it go.

Wear 'em up if it's hot. Don't worry about slowing down the process, they take a while anyway. For dreads, you should treat 'em the same way you would regular hair. The two exceptions of course are not to comb and not to use product that leaves a "smooth and silky" residue. My dreads feel like I'm wearing a blanket in the summer

I wore mine in a bun every day from 0-6months and nothing bad happened. You can wear your hair as you like when you like, just let it wiggle free during sleep.

I don't think it's a problem at all. I was wearing my babies up all the time during the day and usually had them loose at night depending on what I was doing . You could argue, the more different hairstyles, the more different parts of your head will be rubbed. If that's make sense?

revisiting this and after two+ weeks of wearing mine up, I can confidently say they will still dread. In fact, mine may have dreaded more because of the friction of the hairbands. idk! But I always slept with them down.
