Yeah, Olly and I inherited a very buggy site with problems beyond our control to fix and we tried to keep it going for as long as possible but it had gotten to the point where so few people could actually access it that we decided to call it a day.

Also, I'm glad the forum has moved. I tried (to no avail) to get myself in on the old boards but had to settle with shadow stalking on tapatalk. I'm looking forward to participating! Yeah, I think a lot of people were in that same situation. Welcome at last!

Heya! I'm Steph, about to turn 32 soon, yikes! I'm not new to dreads or to DT (though been absent for a long time), but def new to the DT site change. Anyway, I had my last set for 15 months and just recently began a new set for necessary reasons rather than aesthetic.
Ummm, I currently live in Idaho but may be moving south (CA or AZ) in fall for school and year round sunshine. Other than that I love the outdoors, backpacking, hammock-ing, painting, drawing (think bad doodles), astrology, dogs, hotsprings yada yada yada. Anyway, glad to be a part of the "new" DT... thanks for keeping it afloat guys!

Well, I´m 20 and from Norway and got to know this forum by Bubbletonic/Lazy Dreads (he seems like a cool guy). But yea, I haven´t dreaded my hair yet. Just like to prepare myself, so I don´t rush it and gets in an problematic situation. The reason for why I want to dread. Uhm... I don´t really have a spiritual or any important reason yet, I´m just tired of my regular hair. I do feel awkward without my gauges now, so I guess it would be the same with dreads.
I´m kinda unsure of what method to use when my hair is long enough (the front is long enough, but the back and sides are super short). I guess I end up with wool rubbing, cause it´s almost free and the dreads look good (I personally don´t like freeform on myself. I like it neatly). I like the look of backcombing too, but the price for doing it at a salon is just sad (I don´t have any friends which can do it)

Hey All! I'm Jade, new here and semi new to dreads I had a set of dreads done last year via the backcomb/crochet method and extended, I kept them for 6 months before painstakingly brushing them out (my hair grew heaps though..!). I loved my dreads immensely, but not their tight crocheted look and falling out extensions (and the guilt knowing they weren't mine...), and now miss them so much and want to start again, properly! I learnt a lot from my first experience, and now, being not so naive, want to create my dreads myself, leave them their natural length, and patiently enjoy the journey A little bit about me... I'm a 22 year old Australian nursing student taking a break from studies and living in Germany as a waitress with my boyfriend, trying to find myself. I have 8 pet rats (I can't help myself...), an adopted Jack Russell that wants to eat said rats, and wish I had a horse. I'm a terrible vegan, love running, hate the cold, and want to become better (MUCh better ) at yoga and learn more about the buddhist way of thinking. I'm super happy to be here, have loved reading about you all, and can't wait to become involved and get to know you!

I guess I should say something on here. I am def a board newbie, although I have been posting like crazy. I haven't really taken part in a board for probably 10 years. I usually just lurk around.
Hello my name is Grant. I am a thirty year old (31 in June) ginger from WV,USA. I think I may be one of the older folks on here and one of the few active USA posters. I am an Episcopalian. My dreads are a year and almost 8 months old. This is my first set but i have admired them since I was in my junior high metal phase. I just never made the leap. I enjoy tattoos, piercings, huge craft beer fan, mountain biking, weight lifting and spending time with my little 8 month old baby boy. Music is one of my favorite things and i listen to it at all times possible. I dont listen to metal much anymore. I am a big believer in music shaping people's moods. I am less angry these days so I have gravitated towards more positively based music. I actually became a huge fan of reggae about the time I started my dreads. So that adds to the stereotypes, along with all of us selling or smoking pot. Also as you can probably tell I talk A LOT. I am a very social person although I often have trouble walking into large groups or stores alone and usually take a few minutes to collect myself to go in or call someone on my cell to talk to while I do. I am a very social introvert i guess.
