So, it's been too long since I posted, but, well, life... A little bit ago I trimmed my dreads. Still glad I did but I feel like it set me back from about 1yr + to 6 months with the frizzies and the shortness. I'm just dying to get the length back and looking for encouragement. I really want the suckers to mature!

Well, length is no indicator of maturity and so if they were solid before the trim then they'll still be mature, now. My dreads are 8 years old and I still get frizzies.
I can relate to the eagerness to get length, though, as mine were started at around 5-6 inches and I only just trimmed them properly for the first time. Sadly, pulling on them really, REALLY hard doesn't work so there's not much else you can do about the length other than wait!

I feel ya! those long luxurious locks is somethings a lot of us desire. focus on the things you DO like about them right now. maybe because they are shorter they are less worry or cooler for the summer...
I think they look awesome btw

All I can suggest is really dial in on your nutrition. I notice a huge difference in how fast my hair grows when I eat well.

The easiest way to dread is to let it go. The hardest way to dread is to let it go.

Pull your hair, massage your scalp, high heat and humidity helps as well to get the blood circulating which in turn helps the hair grow. Or you can just forget about it for now and the next time you look it'll be super long

missarahmt, thanks for mentioning nutrition! It is so important, and easy for me to be lazy about. This week it's all about the tasty sugar snap peas I found at the farmer's market. Yum!

I miss the length I chopped off too! But the plan was to always do that. I'm just leaving them to it
