Headed to the beach on Saturday for the first time with dreads. Any final tips from anyone regarding beach/pool with dreads?

Just go and enjoy! Worry about the sandy dreads later

Thanks jxbx. I am excited for a vacation. I really need to destress. Just worried about chlorine from the pool and about them staying too wet a little. The sand hadnt even really been a concern. Haha

Sweet! Yeah, stay excited about the vacation and treat 'em like any other hair. I can't imagine the chlorine doing that much damage in a short period of time. They might get lighter maybe, but I'd just make sure they were rinsed after swimming.
Enjoy the time off!!!

Yeah. I just remember lazy dreads saying it could make them slimmy. I worried about that and smell more than damage. But I will just try to rinse them off in the shower afterwards.

And dry them completely between dunking - have fun! Yeag that was my concern since they take like 6+ hours to dry now. Maybe they'll dry faster in the hot sun.

I blow dry as much moisture out and let them air dry after - is that a possibility for you?

So I wash before work at like 6am and then squeeze them as much as I can and then leave them down till at least 1pm. But at the beach i should be able to blow dry a bit if I need to. I will just have to try and keep them dry if we do any late swimming I guess.
