Just to help me keep track of things and for the newbies...
Real briefly, I started my partial dreads (pet dreads) end of December 2015. I have 6 dreads, named after my friends. "Lisa" and "G" came Dec 12 "DT" (renamed forthis site), "Charlotte", and "DOA" came Dec 22 "Ana" came Dec 31
I pretty much just completed 4 full months, although "the girls" are really mature due to excessive crocheting and palmrolling (not recommended, eh, but not regrettable either).
And as I mentioned, I have been here on DT now for one month. (Lunar month, or 28days)
So, I will update this with things like product reviews, random experiences that do not fit into other threads and my monthly updates...or maybe weekly (because I am trying to get 4 or 5 new ones going...they seem to keep falling out, but idk. Backcombed, totally natural, so...just giving it a go.)
One last observation for month one (4), the dreads are getting heavy already...oh...when wet or greasy (as I said in "shampoos", the dry shampoo made them feel lighter.)
K, bye!

Is THAT what I called it? hmm kinda like "picture shy" again. Um... Olly or Dreadlocktruth , can you change the title again please? Carrie's Picture-Shy Partial Dreadlocks Update. (quick one, since I already posted in "partials help") Partials are a pain...BUT...I still CAN'T add a lot of dreads, because I need to be able to dry my hair quickly. I probably spent AT LEAST 15min (closer to 45min) in front of the hair dryer tonight on the low setting, and the dreads themselves were still damp! Also, I read on another site that the stiffness I've been experiencing (crocheted dreads), should go away in a month or two. Well, it's been one month now so, I am awaiting that day. (I know! I know! some of you have said things too...but I haven't bleached or done anything crazy to my dreads so...) Oh, one last observation (gah! I know I said QUICK...I just want to be thorough). I HAVE noticed growth (I think). The root ends are growing out because that hair is softer (promising, but I'll still have to wait years to cut off all the original dreads..anyway) so...while the total length itself hasn't changed, they MUST be getting thicker! So, another thing I am still anticipating with the next month or two is that growth! ok, bye!

Ri talks about being in the habit of NOT brushing...I CAN'T seem to let go of the brush, or comb or whatever fidgeting habit of mine. ugh!

Mine never formed for nearly the 3 year mark. There was nothing to fall out. It never began. But eventually it did. Let go of caring, they arrive faster. Just an observation. Don't worry.

james , eh, I could talk this till I am blue in the face. While that may work if I chose to do a full set, I can only do partials, so I have to pay attention to know when to brush out...eh, I mean, I guess they can't get too tangled without me knowing, right? Hmm...yeah, maybe I will work on this carefree attitude, and just comb out the from like Gillian and Kezi. And then, after a few months, I can decide...yeah, shouldn't be too difficult to take out at that point, right? (Eh, Big fattie took 3 hours to come out! :X...ok, but I forget, that one was not neglect) ~~~~Ohhh, ok, two week update, as it happens, I do see some progress...oh! But that is cuz I messed with them again yesterday after washing,...so they might fall out again...but...I still get knots so...~~~~ man! Hehe I know there are others, but that 3years...that timeline is one true testament of patience! I'll tell you what. (Oh no! There goes my Southern accent, my Hank Hill, if you will. Oh man, I gotta get out lol) lol a watch pot never boils!
