If you could go back in time to when your dreads were only one-month-old what advice would you give yourself?

Not to cut the loose hairs off! Awful habit. (this was prior to me being on here, of course)

don't wear a turban when I had first set, then I used to do it after washing and then my dreads became horrible mess! now I just cover my dreads after washing with towel, not making any turban

The easiest way to dread is to let it go. The hardest way to dread is to let it go.

don't wear a turban when I had first set, then I used to do it after washing and then my dreads became horrible mess! now I just cover my dreads after washing with towel, not making any turban really? like what is the difference? i should ask, how did you make a turban. ummm....what happened at month one??? maybe I'd just say, let them be! Separate but not go nuts on the crocheting! idk, they are so much less maintence though right now. I mean, it's only month 4, but I wanna say I wouldn't do any different??? (or maybe just not do my twist and rip one sooo tight. That is all) oh, so yeah, I think today is technically the monthly anniversary...did I say this already?? I'm starting to forget what I have actually said vs what I am thinking!

Just when you think they are falling out, loose hair is the devil, and everything is ruined...take a deep breath and wait two weeks. Everything will change!

after 2 and half months of wearing 1st set I had something like this !!! ohhhhh!!!! this was your response!!! That's how my hair looks after washing now and I have to comb it all out everytime! heehee!! I exaggerate a little bit! but I do have to come out all the knots on my undreaded hair. (again, feel so bad doing this, but I just can't realistically have a full head of dreads )

I would be wayyyy more chill about them! Probably would go natural/freeform instead of twist and rip

make sure you are already growing aloe vera! You're not going to find any pure aloe at the store!

I'd definitely tell myself to not use certain shampoos that I used at the beginning. They didn't do anything awful, but it was just wasted money lol.

TAKE THE RUBBER BANDS OFF GOOD GOD TAKE THE BANDS OOOOOOOFFF left those suckers on for like six months....
Also (not to month one but the very beginning) to not be afraid of the chunky dreads and to make bigger sections.
