Hey All!
So after about a month of toing and froing I finally decided to start my second set of dreads!
My first set of dreads I had done professionally and they were backcombed, VERY tightly crocheted, and extended as my hair was quite short at the time.
They eventually started to loosen up and get all loopy and crazy which I adored, but my extension also started to fall out they were very long and heavy, I had moved away from my dread Mama, and was going through a challenging time with life and uni, and decided to brush my poor dreadies out... as if that was going to right all the wrongs in my world
Anyway, I get very hair confused when my hair is not dreaded, as dreads now feel like the only hairstyle for me after my first set! I just haven't felt myself without them and my poor hair has suffered the consequences of that... it's been bleached and dyed and bleached and dyed and dyed and.... you get the picture!
So these little babies I decided to make myself, as I wanted them to be my own creation, and I want to experience every stage of the dread journey this time with natural hair and no shortcuts! They're fluffy and crazy, but I love them so much already We have a long journey ahead of us but after all it's the journey that counts, isn't it?
Hair Before
Super fluffy!
Hair During
My partner and I spent a fair bit of time sectioning my hair first. We followed the brick lay pattern as that's what I had before, and it's easy to DIY! The sections were by no means precise
Hair After
Aaaaand here are my very own baby twist 'n' rips!
If anyone has any advice on how to manage my new fluffies - like keeping the roots separated and helping them to lock up a bit more, I'd love to hear from you!
Peace and love
