I think proboards is a free forums service, Mike. Paul said something about it "exploding with ads" next month.

Ah ok. So who do we need to pay to keep the adverts away?

We'd have to pay to go ad-free but it's not that simple... You don't actually remove the ads, but you get a certain number of "ad-free page views" per month. So, for example, we'd pay and then no ads would appear the next 50,000 times any page of the site was loaded within that timeframe. It's basically like a subscription fee as you have to buy another 50,000 ad-free views on the first of each month, with no roll-over.
I don't think it'll actually be an explosion of ads, it might just be one at the top of the page. If you have an ad-blocker installed that should do the job. If we're here long-term then we'd look at it, but I wouldn't recommend anyone donate for THIS forum right now (though it's extremely kind to offer), I think it'd be best to see how it goes.

Paul, would it be considered bad form to have the old board redirect to here for the time being?

I have considered it, I need to ask Olly.

This thread seems like an appropriate place to put this. Just a note for anyone who uses AdBlock or something similar - I know the top of the page says "Please consider supporting this website" if you have it enabled, but it doesn't affect us in the slightest if you block the ads, even though it says you'd be supporting this website. Although, I disabled Adblock just out of curiosity to see what the ads are like and nothing shows up for me, so...

Oh sorry. Duh. I'm sure tapatalk just throws stuff into wrong threads. Hmmm. Makes no sense to me. Can to do a get 'a rainbow donate badge' thing here? Because you do respect those that do.

Dreadlocktruth, awesome. I just love the one that you did for Sara and I think it'd be cool I totally understand the time aspect of it though!

I'd love to donate! This sight means something to many of us, I'm sure.
A drawing, while amazing, takes time away from Paul keeping the wolves at bay, so I would only ask for one from donating if it was understood that there was no expectation of a completion date so he could fit it in only when he has available time.

I just wish there was a way to get the rainbow stars back... I was going to donate on the old one to get em but that's when it was all wonky and realized it would soon be no more
